I have my breeder on facebook, and I often call and share stories with her and bring Joey by to hang out with all her pups :) |
I am sorry your breeder hasn't been more responsive. PIxie and Roxie's breeder has kept in touch with me ever since I got Pixie 6 1/2 years ago. I send her pictures and she calls me very few months just to talk. She recently moved to AZ and told me to come visit any time. |
While I'm not a breeder I do work with a rescue. We live to hear from our families. |

I admit I suck at sending pictures and updates of Westley to my breeder. She's the only one who actually asked for them. The first (gr)eeder doesn't care. When I called to tell her Noah had parvo, she went on the defensive and immediately told me it wasn't her fault. (I was calling to let her know in case it was at her house, since she had puppies, not to blame her). I've never heard from her since. |
I used to call my breeder when I brought my first two home....she has never contacted me even though she has my number....I do send Jersey's breeder pics and updates from time to time, she too has stopped responding....so she will get no more pics from me. Jersey's breeder may very well be busy, but geez at least acknowledge that you got the pics...I too am saddened by the lack of response. |
Joels breeder barely cared when I sent pics of him either, I thought it was because they didn't like his curly hair and he wasn't "standard" or something. |
Her loss entirely. Your baby is adorable! |

Mine had lived with her breeder a year. After me calling once to ask a question I never heard from her again, not even to see if I had her spayed. She lived there almost a YEAR! ??? :embarasse |
I have the experience of having 3 wonderful breeders who love getting pictures. One out of four, now that's not bad! The fourth one never responded after the pup came home with me. |
I have never bred dogs but I used to breed Himalayan cats. I always loved to get pictures of those beauties lounging on their cat trees or their favorite chair or bed. It was a great comfort for me to know that those babies were having wonderful, healthy, happy lives. I have noticed that many people here on YT who have had to contact their breeders about problems get some bad responses even through the breeder had seemed very friendly when they sold the pup. I think the follow up you get with a breeder really says it all. |
As a breeder I would love to get regular update on my pups. I try to stay in touch with the families as much as I can but sometimes they don't respond to my emails and we loose touch. Unless we are friends on FB I usually don't get much insight into their lives after about four months. I can only hope for pics periodically and updates on health and their well being throughout the years, but that is up to the new families on how they choose to respond but it is not for lack of trying. I do have a hand full of families that I have managed o stay in touch with. One of my pups who is 6 now and a litter mate of my Brandi just came home to Ohio all the way from TX for a visit this past weekend. It was so nice seeing them. |
