I personally couldn't, wouldn't take the full-time position, if I had to leave the puppy alone for most of the day. You may have to make a choice.

my puppy is my first priority. I just wanted to confirm that i was making the right decision.

i'm sure something else will come later on! thats another reason i'm hesitant to take it right away. I'm only 21 years old. I have plenty of time to look for a full time job. my job now is temporary its not what i'm planing to do with my degree.

Well if you can afford to stay part time, then that's what I would do. You have lots more years to work full time! Enjoy life while you are young. :)

I say it depends on the position ur in right now. If ur broke & can't pay ur bills then u should be taking this job. There r lots of ppl w/degrees struggling to find work, opportunities like this aren't as common as they used to be.. But if money wise ur fine then don't and put ur puppies needs first. It's all about priorities and what's needed now.

I think you made the right decision. When I brought Morgan home I was off for 2 weeks. And I was lucky enough for my husband to be retired so Morgan did not spend any time alone. I know not everybody is in the same situation

Yes I can definitely afford to stay part time. I don't have any major bills (aside from my car note since I purchased a brand new car almost a year ago) since I'm still at home with my parents. I think I will just stay part-time. I don't think I could be away from her for 8 hours at such a young age!

I would never want to see a puppy that is less than 12 weeks of age left alone for the day. You probably have read that a small breed pup like a Yorkie should stay with it's litter until at least 12 weeks of age. The first couple of weeks at the new home are critical with any pup.

Leaving a pup in a crate for hours at a time is cruel. A pup cannot hold it's urine for that length of time so you are creating a bad situation if you "stick it in a crate and leave it." A playpen or a small room that has been puppy proofed is a much better alternative.

If you really need this job then of course you should take it. It would be nice if you had someone who could come in and spend time with the baby while you are working. If you have issues with the pup like it not eating or some health problem you are going to be having a hard time of it. I hope things work out for you.

Miley will be 13 weeks when I pick her up and shes not being crated...i'm not sure where you got that information from. I don't believe in using a crate for extended hours. In fact, she probably will rarely ever use her crate.

Well if u still live with ur parents then of course don't take the job lol. Not a big deal stay home w/ur puppy, no worries.

This was my thinking too. Not everyone can afford to be a stay at home doggy mom, or even part time. I know I can't. Puppy or adult pup, if I don't work, no one will get fed. It sounds like this job wasn't one that really had your attention to begin with, which made it easy for you to decide.

Exactly! If I don't work my dogs don't get fed, get new toys, get treats, get anything for that matter lol. No more car rides either cause mommy won't have a car lol. Gotta work to provide

yes i completely agree!! oh it had my attention alright haha but at the end of the day since i CAN put Miley first i decided i probably should. it's funny though because my breeder told me to take the job and just set her up with lots of toys, food, and water in a puppy play pen. My dad will be home, he just sleeps during the day (he works overnight) so he wouldn't be able to interact with Miley as much as I would like.

haha yes, and i don't like being so dependent upon my mom. :( she doesn't (and hasn't) paid for anything of mine for years now (aside from my car insurance which was her choice. I offered to pay it but she refused). I just want to get my degree already so that I can find a place of my own and start taking care of my mom for all of the years she's provided for me!
