I have heard of them having salomenella but bullysticks can harbor bacteria too |

I would definitely avoid the pig ears. I used to give them to mine and they would not quit chewing on them until they were all gone. They can also cause tummy upsets. My bigger yorkies love cow hooves and also C.E.T. dental chews. You can order them from Revival. |

While Ive been on here Ive heard of bullysticks affecting dogs digestive systems and dogs getting diahrea after chewing on one but then other people give their dogs them all the time and they are just fine so it may be certain dogs are just more susceptible to it |
I tried bully sticks and Jess loved them. They didnt love her..she got the runs..I waited and decided to try another brand as she loved them so much..guess what? same thing..so no bullies for us but many yorkies have no problem with them.. |

Antlers are expensive ,but they last FOREVER. Mina cannt tear them up so she is not interested. She has learned to bite through rawhide sticks(stuck in KONG so she cannt just inhale them) ,so there will be nomore of those. Bully sticks ICK! So we are at a bit of a loss here too. |
My vet dentist said antlers WILL break there teeth and trust me fixing a broken tooth is EXPENSIVE because Callie had to have one fixed and sometimes the only fix is to pull it. Pig ears have had many many recalls in the last year and they also have a lot of fat in them and to much fat is not good. I would stick to bully sticks sense they are 100% digestible. |
DH has given our dogs each a pig ear from time to time. Neither the German Shorthair nor the Yorkie have had any adverse affects from them. They haven't had them often so I'm not worried about the fat content. Buddy (our GSP) chomps them up really quickly and Blazer (Yorkie) is a monster chewer and he downs them fairly quickly as well. That, or Buddy ends up stealing them... Not sure about that, I haven't him doing it. |

I don't give pig ears to my girls for many reasons, bacteria, choking, etc.... I have given mine deer antlers and they do last forever. |
I stick with bully sticks when they get soft switch it out so allows to harden again. Been on the same two for over a month still not half way, my pup is only 4 lbs, so tiny teeth. My big dogs destroy them quickly. No digestive issues, but does get crust in beard |
I personally don’t use any type of chews. Peanut can’t tolerate bully sticks, Texas toothpicks, and he doesn’t like the Himalayan chews. I never tried Antlers- they seemed too hard for my liking. My vet told me bacteria can be on the bully sticks one of the reasons I stopped giving them. Peanut got pancreatitis after he chewed a Texas Toothpick. Just be careful what you are putting in your dogs tummy. If you noticed any diarrhea after chewing any of those products, pull it up right away, That might be your sign their tummy can’t tolerate them. I’ve been hearing more and more dogs having issues after chewing those products. Since pulling all the products I have never seen Peanut so healthy. He hasn't been to the Vet since he was sick with pancreatitis!! P.S I would never let a Yorkie chew on a Pigs ear- way too fatty and just gross in general. Would you suck on a piece of bacon? Gross!! |
