We don't do pig anything. She isn't an aggressive chewer, never has been. She always has a Himalayan Chew to chew on and occasionally I give her a bully stick which I discard after the chewing session. I get the thin ones so there isn't quite so much waste. I always supervise the bully chewing. Occasionally I'll see her chewing on her fleece toys with squeakers. She is noted for her squeaker killing ability. |
I have always given my bigger dog, Shelby, pig ears. He loves them and has never had a problem with them. Any chew that sits out after being chewed will have bacteria start to grow on it. I don't give pig ears to my Yorkie, though, because they can tear off pieces that can be choking hazards. I stick with bully sticks with her (I ziplock and refrigerate what's been chewed afterwards). You can use a knife to scrape/cut off the moistened areas where bacteria will want to grow, also. |
not the greatest but just monitor them when they eat it, too much of something like that can upset the belly |
Antlers are too hard. Pig ears are high fat and full of bacteria. Yorkiss are probe to Pancreatitis. Bullies also are full of bacteria, may break teeth, and can trigger pancreatitis also. I would skip them all. |

I feed Mokie Bullies never had a problem. I throw them away when they are small. He like Himalayan chews also. He can chew on those for a couple days. He doesn't get gas. I've had dogs all my life if they are healthy usually will do fine. If your dog is prone to problems them maybe I wouldn't. I don't feed pig stuff because it seems fatty, sharp and greasy. I know ppl who feed RAW and worry about Bully sticks having bacteria? Evey dog is different. I had a dog that could eat cooked eggs. He would vomit as soon as he ate it. So he didn't get any. Some ppl think eggs are bad but my dogs like them. As long as the product can be digested and I trust the manufacture I will try it. Never had a dog with Pancreatits or any other ailment from how I feed them. |

I used to use CET chews. My little Teddy Peanut died of a stomach obstruction.. I don't know what it was in his little tummy but I hope it wasn't a piece of chew. I do not give them anymore. Dogs can bite off a piece of this and it can lodge inside. Mine do not get any type of dog chew. They chew on Kong Toys that are tough and not flimsy. Please be careful with anything you give them. No on the greenies. I believe pieces of these can break off and get lodged. |
