My Gi will bark at anything. If I am in the closet in the bedroom and she is in the living room she will bark when she hears me moving things around. The toilet paper roll noise in the bathroom sets her off. Oh, do not let a game show ring a bell, she will give them heck for that. Have tried the water bottle. She would just get behind something or someone to avoid getting wet. Shhhhh doesn't work either. But oh well, she is my baby and she has me wrapped around her little furry paw. |

Just sitting around the house, he is fairly quiet, unless someone drives slowly past HIS house, or a bird or squirrel has the audacity to get on HIS deck, or he sees a cat or rabbit in the yard, or a doorbell rings-real or TV. In the car, he is an angel, unless we are at a drive thru window or he sees someone in another car looking at him; then his presence is announced to the world. In stores, not a peep,Thank goodness! So, he only barks if he has a reason (kinda), and we are still working on the stop command, but he is getting better. When outside on the deck, if he starts barking, he responds quickly to "get your a** back in this house and be quiet". (That would be his daddy training him, but it works for me, too ) |
No, Gracie is not yappy. She does not bark when someone comes to the door or if she hears noises. She does tend to tell me if she needs something. Like if I am late feeding her or if the cat is laying on one of her favorite toys. When she gets into one of her super terrier modes as she plays and "attacks" her toys she will get barking. I just let her get it out of her system for a while. If it goes on too long I tell her "enough!" and she stops. Oh, when her and the cat get playing she gets excited and barks but it is the same thing, if I tell her to stop she listens. The only animal she has ever barked and growled at in a serious way was when a black bear was raiding the bird feeder outside my bedroom window. She was serous about that but she was doing what she should have done so I can't fault her on that. |
My two boys aren't yappy at all..........unless of course the doorbell rings...or a dog walks by the house...or anyone walks by the house...or a bird lands near the front window...or the bushes by the front window are moving in the wind...or a squirrel is on the lawn...or anyone is on or near the lawn ~ but aside from that they're pretty quiet! ;) |
Nena and Rufus don't bark while at home, maybe when they are playing but it doesn't happen often. When the doorbell rings, they stay quiet but when someone comes in the house Rufus starts growling until he smells the person. We have to tell him every time that it's ok.. When they are outside Rufus barks at strangers, at kids, at other dogs..Nena on the other hand stays very quiet but when she sees another dog she starts breeding differently and starts kinda growing (it's a very soft growling, like giving me a warning).. |
chester is not at all |
Keno only barks if he has a good reason. He does guard his yard and chase the birds and squirrel who dare to come into his yard but that is about it. Just how they are raised, if you allow the barking at nothing they will bark, just like any other dog. |
Mine alert then stop when told "Enough'. Julia is not a year old yet and barks the most. I have five and my neighbors thought we only had 1 or two. |
