I would NOT buy this dog for $800 that is wayyyyy too much for a 3 year old. I would go to a shelter and adopt one, her coat is not that great I wouldn't pay more than $250 honestly. You can find a puppy for that price!! |
Rehome price Having read the original posts again I see that a deposit has been placed. I pray that if it does not work out you can recoup your deposit. Again, good luck, and hope she is healthy and you can negotiate a more suitable price for the little girl. |
Thats strange, I have never heard of that before. I do know that Yorkie in general get lighter with age. Two of mine who are almost 11 & 8 have lost some of that rich golden/dark black colors and have gotten much lighter than they were just two years ago. Quote:
As much as this pup needs someone in her life to love and care about her, because she clearly is not in a good situation at her present home. Unless you can get her for a fraction of the price, if it were me I would walk away. There is so much that you dont know about her. It seems as if the breeder is just trying to recoupe some of her cost and doesn't really care about the dog. If she did she wouldn't ask such a ridiculous amount of money for her. You would think that she would appreciate the fact that you are interested in providing her with a loving home even if that ment taking a loss. |

4 Attachment(s) Wow!! I NEVER expected so many replies!! You all are amazing and soooo helpful. I truly feel your love and concern for this girl. I read each and everyone of your replies throughly and the more I read the more I now know that this women clearly is trying to take advantage. Not only of me but of people she is selling her puppies to... her price on kijiji for the puppies is set at $1,250+ (I will attach pictures from her ad). In my own opinion the fact that she is or isn't full bread yorkie is not a problem for me. Also I will note that the picture i posted of her at first was INSTAGRAMED so the colors of her coat were VERY much lightened due to the filter from instagram. I will upload the full picture she sent me without editing, as well as a few other images. Remember ladies and gents that these dogs are raised on a farm so they NEVER have gorgeous haircuts from groomers. This in my opinion is understandable as I grew up on a farm. If they are rolling around in horse s**t ... why would they have beautiful haircuts? So that to me doesn't matter either. They are kept short and have no matts. All I want is a companion that I can give a whirlwind of love and affection to. Clearly I would be saving this girl from whatever is going on out there on this farm the women lives on. BUT ... this means with the help of all your opinions and comments I can use my accumulated knowledge against her. I have done hours and hours of research (mostly because I've been so damn excited and it's all I can think about hahaha). I will even bring up that I have all of your wonderful opinions to back me up in my suspicions against her. I know for a fact that she cannot prove where her blood line comes from as she informed that the women she got her dog from was a crook and lied to her about THEIR blood line. I have also been reading a TON on how to win at bargaining. I am not a dumb guy by any means, I have taken business, economics, and law classes in University and now more than ever I feel the need to rescue this beautiful girl BUT ONLY at fair price! I am going to be traveling to her farm this Wednesday with my boyfriend! The puppies are 6 weeks old the day we arrive. She has told me in a text message this morning that if all goes well she would let me take her this Wednesday. I also find this unnerving as the mom shouldn't leave till 9 weeks RIGHT???? I am having continuos panicky feelings regarding this situation. I need to get her out of there!! (I will follow this post with more pictures I have received from the lady) |

Honestly, with the new pics I think she looks more Silky to me. |

Then she sent me the second picture where her hair is a bit longer and i thought she was precious! Clearly their hack haircuts aren't helping her convince anyone too easily. This whole situation is frustrating me. |
Hello everyone. I'm new to this site so I hope I'm posting in the right place. I' m a 34 year old married, mom of two children ages 7 and 11. We recently bought a home and have a beautiful yard...all we are missing is a pup! My children are at the age where hugging mom or being affectionate is "gross." So I would like to find a yorkie baby that I can bring home to cuddle and spoil. My first time laying my eyes on a yorkie ( about 2 years ago) I fell in love! I have been doing a lot of research on the breed and looking all over for a reputable breeder who isn't out for the money but instead looking for a good family. A task that has proven to be very difficult and frusterating. I live in maine and I have only seen a few breeders most of which are asking thousands for their puppies! I do know that like with everything else in life you get what you pay for but I have heard of people getting a great pup for a fraction of what ALOT of people are asking. I'm looking for a yorkie that is cream colored or white...If anybody knows of a reputable breeder in Maine or even New Hampshire that isn't asking thousands for these pups PLEASE let me know. Thanks for any and all help:) |

You should start your own thread inquiring about breeders in your area. I'm a lil confused about, "I'm looking for a yorkie that is cream colored or white...If anybody knows of a reputable breeder in Maine or even New Hampshire that isn't asking thousands for these pups PLEASE let me know " as I don't believe reputable breeders breed off-color yorkies. If you want a small white dog, why not get a Maltese? |
Way to much! I would be careful of her! |
Oh OK! I have seen some pics of yorkies that were maybe more like a golden color? They aren't the traditional brown/ black colors. Is that not a pure yorkie? I found a pic on google like the dog I'm describing but not sure if I can post it here or how to do so.... |
New pup Hello. I am very impressed that you are taking this issue of the baby girl so seriously and that you have taken the trouble to do research and read all our comments and take them so positively. Some here ask for help and then get offended if they do not hear what they expected. You deserve to have the right Yorkie girl to love and I am sure that will happen. I can well understand that you are not concerned about her color or papers, but health and price are important issues. It is so easy to get attached to a pup and put aside logic in favor of heart. It is good that you are taking your boyfriend as moral support should you have to negotiate. As for taking her home with her pups at only 6 weeks, that does not seem right to me. The pups need their momma a few weeks more. But the breeders here will better assess that situation. Although it does not matter, it does look like the pic on a doggie bed shows her to be light next to the darker dog next to her. ( under the same lighting conditions) I agree with Cpt. Noonie, she has a silky look. The only reason I mention this is to back up your case for a price reduction. Please do not take offense, but like you - the one pic did look rather like a cute baby piggy. LOL! It was the way she was walking. However, this baby girl needs a wonderful home like yours and I pray she is all you hoped for when you visit, and that she will be yours soon. Be firm as this breeder is clearly out for money. Finding the right pet is so hard I know and I understand it can be confusing and frustrating, but hang in there! Good Luck and keep us updated. |
Hello mumof2 maybe you have your eyes set on a Maltese. :-D |

I know that once she meets me and hopefully see's how much I stand to offer her dog she will reconsidered. And sadly if she doesn't then I'll have to walk away, heartbroken, but it will just prove she doesn't care about her dogs but only dollars. I will deffenitly make sure that she has all the adiquite papers proving health and ESPECIALLY dental. Someone above said something about breeding rights and if that that is her condition it should be less because she should have her fixed herself?? How would I argue that? My boyfriend is much more of a bold personality and is sad to hear the opinions of everyone on here going completely against this women. He is ready to give this women a what for. I just really appreciate the help in this amazing community and would love to own my dog just to be apart of it. I really wouldn't have known how to argue the fact that her price is out to lunch otherwise. I refuse to be taken advantage of just because I'm a nice guy. |
