please take a look at these photos for me~ 2 Attachment(s) I just got an email from my breeder...I am getting a new yorkie from them...in about 2weeks For some reason, I wont be able to go there to pick him up...so they send me some photos of them at 5 wks and 8 wks...(it's boy yorkies) ================================================== ===== according to my breeder, their personality is... Puppy #1(breeder gave them names, but only for this posting I use #) he is my very sweet kissy boy. He is the one that will roll over on his back to get belly rubs. I absolutely LOVE his personality and his look. He looks like a teddybear, shorter legs than the other one, also shorter body length. Very nice and cobby, nice straight back, good level bite. His coat is also thick but silky which is very nice. This one is a little smaller than boy number two. Puppy #2 He prefers running around more than being held. Cute boy either way, little bit longer body, stands a little taller than boy number one. He does have a nice straight back, a good bite, and a nice coat as well. This little guy is sweet too but is more independent than the other brother. ================================================== ===== they both are very healthy...Heard from ppl that owns dogs, puppies personality will change over time anyway...and I'm very new to yorkies... The breeder seems prefer the first one...but just for the appearance, to me the second one is more close to what I imagine a yorkie would looks like... also Dont know about thick hair, short legs and tall height...which one looks cuter when they grow up?? ^^ I'm confused..Honestly.I like them both..because they look alike( the second one has white hair on his chest) I would keep them both if I can...^^ Please, Help me out! Thanks in advance~ |
On looks alone (because I believe a lot of dogs temperament can be molded to their environment and how they're raised) I say #2, he is the cutest thing ever!!:) unless you're wanting a show dog I don't think their length and leg height matters too much ? Good luck :) |

Welcome! I think they are both adorable. |
Oh I love the look of #2! Isn't it funny how everyone can have their own favorite? Blazer's breeder absolutely LOVED the one we named Grizzly- she thought that he was SOOOO handsome, but no one else (in the "family") really cared for his looks. I fell in love with Blazer immeadiately- I didn't even consider taking one of the other pups. Initially it was all based on his looks, too. I just stuck with my gut feeling and I'm so pleased by the results! When DH went to pick out our GSP 8 years ago he went with his gut and chose Buddy even though the breeder was trying to push DH to take a different male. Stick with your gut feeling- I doubt you'll ever regret it! =) |
I think they are both just adorable. For me, there is no way I would buy a puppy without being able to go and pick them and actually see the place they are coming from. I would most certainly not trust a breeder that didn't allow this. |
I think they are both adorable, too! Did they say why, you can not go see them? I always go by instinct and love to see how they interact with you. I would try to go see them in person! |
Either one is adorbale. I would probably go with number 1 based on breeders description of his personality. Good luck. |
I agree I would need to see them interacting plus I like to see their home environment. They both look the similar to be so I would need to watch them before deciding. This is what happened to me. Our breeder just had a new litter and we wanted a girl so based on looks we chose one (we had first pick). When the pups were 5 weeks old we got to visit them. Right away this little boy comes over and starts licking my DH hand and wants to be rub. He starts interacting with everybody and is playing with mom. The other puppies including the girl we chose were just watching. Plus the girl has a very cotton coat and the male is silky. Our current puppy is very active and we have an active lifestyle so instead we switched puppies and will be getting the boy. It was his personality that fit us better. This is why it is so important to see them in person. |
Both puppies are adorable. The best clue to what they might look like as adults is to look at their parents. Personally I would insist on seeing the parents and where these dogs live and are bred. Some breeders will say that they can't risk having visitors for health and security reasons related to pups. Some of these people might be legitimate, but many are not. They ask to meet pet buyers at a public location and often deliver a pup that is not the one in the pictures. Be cautious. |
Why did she say you can't go there? If you are having trouble choosing, visiting in person might help you based on how they interact with you. I remember when I got my golden, my boy pushed his way through the litter to get to me as if he knew I was supposed to pick him. He was right. My yorkie was the only one for sale because the breeder kept his sister, but I still got to go to her house to pick him up. I hope she is not hiding something like a puppy mill or nasty living conditions? Just based on the descriptions, how do you imagine your puppy to be. My boy was independent and outgoing from the day he was born and he still is 9 years later, although the older he gets, the more loving he gets. He only cuddles when HE wants to and he prefers my husband, but he told me I'm a pretty good 2nd best, LOL. Although their personalities can change, it sounds like she thinks #1 is more of a cuddle bug and a lover, and #2 is more independent and outgoing. Go with your gut instinct. |
One more note . . . One of the reasons I like AKC registration and having papers with the pup is verification of who the actual parents are. Some breeders manage to trick the system and still pass pups off as something they are not, but for the most part, it is a good means of making sure you get the right pup. This is important for looks and health. |
I think both are so adorable but I would choose #1. |
I would absolutely never puchase a puppy without seeing both parents and where they grew up! |
I think you should take both of them :) |
