Eggnog at 11...singin by noon....WWWOOOOOHHHOOOOOO Almost time for the show :D |
I have 1 male Maltese and 1 female Yorkie and they LOVE each other to pieces! My boy doesn't spray or mark. He's such a little doll and soooo protective of his little sister. Tia follows him all around the house and is always trying to get a smooch in here and there. It's such a blessing having them both. They have brought so much joy to me and my husband that we honestly just cannot imagine our life without them. |
2 are NOT better than 1...I prefer 12...ahahahahah. Yorkies do better in multiple pet households. They are very social and nosey. If you work I definitely recommend getting a companion for your singleton. 8 hrs can be along day by yourself. As for sex. I have a couple that bought 4 males from me and they just adopted a female I had retired. She was alpha at my house and she's alpha at theirs. I have 4 males at home and they get a long fine..no pissing wars..lolol..it's all in how you train and the personality of the parents. If a breeder tells you their males mark, that may be an indicator...mine don't..(knocking on wood) my females do. Good luck and you came to the best place for answers! irene |
I have two yorkies a male and a female. I like this combonation. Chachi is the alpha and Jewels is the follower. I dont have any competitve fighting. Chachi doent mark or try to hump Jewels because they are both neutered/spayed. |

Louie had just turned a yr. in October and I got Bella in November at 13 wks old. They get along soooo great! I love having two. They play so nice together and are so much fun to watch. They are best buds. When I first brought Bella home I put her in this big playpen thing that we have for a little while instead of letting her run around because I wanted Louie to get used to the idea of another dog in HIS house. I didnt want him to be too territorial and get jealous and mad at her. It seemed to work because like I said he just loves having her around! Hope this helps. (oh and it also makes me feel less guilty when I have to leave the house because now Louie has a buddy and is not all alone) :p :wavey: :yorkiesar |

Sure! My first male; my stud Sultan. He is SOOO not your typical stud. He doesn't mark nor does he hump (only when it's the right time). He very regal and elegant in his mannerisms. He doesn't whine or carry on when a females in heat. He and I have a routine and he knows whent it's time to do his duty. Now he will sniff and lick her when she's in heat, but that's it. When it's time to breed.I pick her up grab a pee pad and take them into my bedroom. I lay the pad down, set her on it. He lets me get her all ready (i comb her hair and get her in position) he looks at me and when I say...'OK'..he gets going..10 sec later they are tied. I watch TV until they detach..lolol. It's my belief that because of his non-aggresive personality. NONE of my 3 other males are hormonially agressive like most studs would be. They do not mark in the house or carry on when a females in heat. Believe me, I just had 5 Biewers and 1 Yorkie in heat at the sametime..it was no different that it is now. So I base my theory on experience. Now, if Sultan were an aggressive stud who acted all wild when girls were in heat, I'm sure Id have the opposite problem. Sure glad i don't. just like anything else they learn by watching..2 of the other boys are pups from Sultan the other is a Biewer. That's my theory in a nutshell! :D |
LOLOLOL - I found THIS way too funny ....."when I say...'OK'..he gets going..10 sec later they are tied. I watch TV until they detach" LOL - are ya giving them some privacy mom ? |

I definately think two dogs are better. Yorkies are generally quite social and need companionship. If I'm not around, they have each other. Jig is my alpha dog even though he is younger. It's just his personality. Joy is quiet and more reserved. In fact, she thought she was Jig's mother at first and did a lot of maternal behaviors with him. Once he "grew up", they became more friends and they play very often. They protect one another if they see my in-laws Bichans as a threat. I never see them fight with one another. Mostly, they play or even groom one another. Since Joy is a little less social, sometimes she wants time to herself so she'll curl up on her pillow and Jig knows that's "her time". It's great, really and warms my heart to see them together. I don't know if I could do with just one. Dawn |

You think that's funny. My mom came over while I was at work to 'use' Sultan on her Yorkie. WELL...mom and Star left without any action. My mom called me at work and said Sultan won't do it if I'm not there..hahahah..I came home..did our routine..Star had 2 pups in June. |
