A red flag to me on her website would be the face she doesn't have pedigree, the sires and dams. Looks like a pet store rather than a dog breeder, looks like she may be a newby website is plain.

Aren't you aware that the yorkie you have now was once cross bred to look the way it does?? Waterside Terrier now known as the Yorkshire terrier was a breed formed by the crossing of the old rough-coated Black-and-Tan English Terrier (common in the Manchester area) and the Paisley and Clydesdale Terriers.

I have done my research and I still stand firm that mixing dogs is bad.

Winning championships doesn't make them a good breeder either. Unfortunately many champions are beset with health problems. Your information is wrong about mixed breeds have the good qualities of two breeds, they could also get the "BAD" qualities of both breeds. Also, they don't have a 35% less chance of hereditary diseases, no matter what you read on a breeder’s website. The people here are free to give their opinion on a breeder because of what’s written on a website and selling “teacups” and mixed breeds are two huge red flags.

Also, I purchased my new puppy from a different breeder but I noticed his bones are very fragile feeling and thin.. But he eats a lot he now weight 2lbs does this mean he was poorly bred??
To answer you other questions, the puppy's weight is just fine, but your puppy may be teething and ears will drop. Teething takes calcium away from the cartilage causing the ears to drop. Make sure you keep the top third of the ear front and back shaved and this help keeps the weight down. I used an eyebrow clipper when Joey was young. Eyebrow Clipper Some people recommend massage or even supplements. There are also detailed instructions on taping the ear if you do a search. It's necessary to shave the whole ear if you tape it.

Eyebrow clipper is a great idea. I've always used mustache groomers, but I bet eyebrow clippers are even safer. Thanks for the tip. We never quit learning

Yeah, I tried the mustache groomer, but I wasn't able to get the hair around the ear without hurting him. With this, you don't have to use a scissors around the ear and there's no chance of nicks. It's also very quiet.

OP your post is asking if your pup is from a bad breeder. I wouldn't panic or worry too much but this breeder is highly suspect to me so I would be vigilant in watching your puppy for any signs of illness etc. But for now just enjoy your pup! Many of us here have had bad experiences but many of us have been lucky (not me) but many others!

Your pups ears will come around but I do have 2 that their ears never did come up, despite all attempts at forcing them! I love them no matter what!

Your baby is adorable! Please stick around and learn more information about breeders and Yorkies in general, no matter how much you think you know believe me you will learn new things here!

Welcome to YT!
We have all been educated to look for these red flags. Being from a state with many BYB's, these are terms that they commonly use to sell more pups. Being on YT a long time has caused us to see so many stories. That's why the red flags puts us on high alert.

However, like Lynzy said, don't worry with that now. Just enjoy your pup!

For the ears, Jasper took the longest out of the litter for them to stand up. One ear went up for a month or so, then the other came up. And this was when he was about 4 months, they both sat up. I was worried for a while, cause his litter, they all had ears up. apart from the girl. His daddy actually had a perament one ear up, and one ear down.

He's the skinniest out of the litter, and smallest. I think 1lb and a 1/2, or under. the majority were 2lb. He is started to fill out more now. under 7lbs if he is not sick.

He has a very long body, when he stretches. but can curl up so small when he wants.

I wouldn't worry

It does sound like your pup may have a bit of a calcium deficency since his ears seem to go down after he has been up and about during the day. Adding a little cottage cheese or plain yogurt to his food or as a treat daily may help.

If a Yorkie has ancestors with ears that did not stay up he may have inherited the same issue. Helping him along by trimming the ear tips, as stated, may be helpful. I have read about tapping the ears and some people have had success doing that. A lot does depend on genetics though.

Getting your info about Yorkies from successful professional breeders is usually much more helpful than watching animal planet. The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America would be your best source of Yorkie information. Of course the library here on YT is also very informative. YT has some very informed reputable breeders as well.
