Mandie's Having a Dental Today So, this morning I dropped my baby off to have dental surgery. She is getting her 2 retained baby teeth pulled and a dental cleaning. I told them to go ahead and do her nails too. lol It killed me not to let her eat or drink this morning! She didn't understand. She kept going to where her food bowl was supposed to be and to where the water is and they were gone. Ugh! I had to take her in at the earliest time because I couldn't bare not feeding her or giving her water. She kept giving kisses and I was scared it was going to dry her mouth out! :( I came home and Shelby was looking for her. He was like, "Where the heck is she, Mom?! I saw you leave with the brat...?" He kept sniffing me and going to the door and sniffing me and walking around...now he's sitting here looking at me, like he is all confused because he's not being bugged to death lol I'll post later when I know something. I'm trying not to think about it so I'm going to keep myself busy around the house now. :thumbup: |
I've got my baby dropped off at the vet too for her hernia surgery. I did the same thing and told them to do her nails while she was asleep too! She kept wanting her morning treat so bad. She'd do her little spin that means she wants her treat and looked at me so confused like why it isn't this working right and have to spin again. Makes you feel so bad not to let them have it when they don't understand. She was happy to get to go, but wasn't thrilled where she ended up! LoL She was barking her head of when I left. I'm sure her & Mandie will be just fine. Praying it all goes great for Mandie too. |

sending prayers for all to go smooth for Mandie. my dh brought ours to the groomer and i didnt know they keep them all day. i feel so horribly guilty. i can just imagine them all huddled in the crate together discussing how horrible mom and dad are for doing this to them. sad face. i feel terrible. |

Sending prayers for both little sweet babies..I always have Jada's nails quicked if she is under anesthesia for something else.. She fights me like a wild tiger when I try to do them, so I usually on do the little tips. Hope everything goes well with the dental and with the hernia repair. |

Thank you all for your support! Praying for Heidi! I am sure the vet will take good care of her. And, I know..it is just heartbreaking not being able to feed and treat them! Just talked to Mandie's vet office. She is out of surgery. She did well and is starting to wake up. They have given her a pain shot and I should be able to pick her up around 3:30. Yay! Tomorrow is her birthday so I am going to use this time to go to the grocery store and get stuff to make her a cake. :) OOOOh! And I was super surprised to find out how much she weighs. She hasn't been weighed in 2 months and I figured she gained a little but not a lot or anything. She was 5 lbs 3oz the last time she was weighed. Today, she is 6 lbs!!! My big girl!! :D (and to think, the people that sold her to me did so because "we wanted a regular Yorkie and she is a teacup" HAHAHAHAHA!!) :) |

Hey, guys - so her mouth will be sore tonight huh? What can she eat? Should I just make her some chicken and rice or soak her kibble to make it soft or what? |

Whenever mine get their teeth extracted, they recommend soft food for a couple of days. You can moisten her kibble in hot water or give her some canned food. Chicken & rice is always yummy, esp w/some carrots or green beans!:D Hope Heidi does well too! |
Okay, this is what I thought. I'm headed out to the store now so i'll pick up some of that. I am glad her bday cake is soft by nature :D How is Heidi, Karen? Any news? Have you called to bug them? I would be calling every hour because I'm just that annoying lol Still praying! |

So glad she is out of surgery! Jackson is having his dental on Monday, and then Wednesday the groomer comes. I think he is going to hate me next week. I am going to try and make up for the bad by doing fun things, like the park, lol. |
Just got a call from my vet and Heidi is waking up from her surgery. It all went fine, but said she is having trouble regulating her body temperature and they have her on a heating pad. Said its nothing major to worry about, that it happens sometimes when their body's get so relaxed. |
