Help!! Will a Flintstone vitamin harm a yorkie? My just under 4lbs 12 month old yorkie ate a Flintstone vitamin just now...should I be worried? She grabbed it when my daughter accidentally dropped it and ran/ate it before we could catch her...little brat! Now I'm worried that with her being such a small dog she could get really sick from it. Anyone have this happen before? I live in a small isolated town and no vet office is open till tomorrow. Any info ASAP would be greatly appreciated!

That's what I'm hoping, it's for kids so hopefully not toxic. She's running around with my other yorkie pup and I'm giving her treats so it will hopefully mix with the vitamin in her tummy. Not sure what else to do besides watch her closely, it's only been 20 minutes so still too early to tell.

I think you should call your vet. Not wait for possible syptoms. Hope you did and your furbaby is okay

| Just seeing this now... hoping your pup is doing okay. I would be worried about the type of sweetner used in the vitamin as mentioned. Also the iron content. And watch for any allergic reactions as they contain many artificial colorings. There's too many varieties of Flinstones Vitamins for me to check...hopefully you put a call in to the vet. If you haven't , I would still have her seen or at least talk to your regular vet about it.

Thanks everyone! I called the vet and she said to watch for allergic reaction and possible loose stool. She hasn't had any symptoms as of now so we should be in the clear. Pippa has been playing, eating, drinking, and had a solid #2 this morning so all is good From now on my girls will be eating their vitamins when the pups are in their room...scary reminder to be extra careful! Have a great day!

Rule at my house.....all medicine is kept and dispensed in the bathrooms! NO medicine at all is allowed in any part of the house where dogs walk. I have had too many close calls in the past, I am getting older and clumsier, my eyesight isnt as good, and I DO NOT MOVE AS FAST!!! Cant be trying to beat tiny dogs to tiny pills that I cant even see, that hit the floor, and God only knows where they roll to!
