The little tellitubbie had a hard time walking too and it was because of the pain in its tummy. :(

There are a lot of genetic weakness in many Yorkies being sold these days. One of them is a weakness in the knees. There are many other issues that he could be suffering from. The only reason that he could be over weight as a puppy that I know of would be if the thyroid is not functioning properly. It sounds critical for this pup to be seen by a vet right away. Make sure you tell the vet where you got him and that you are concerned about his inability to walk normally and that he is having problems walking and functioning as he should. It is not normal for a puppy not to be able to walk, run and play normally no matter what sized it is. There are plenty of larger breed pups that run and play despite their size.

One other thing is that I do see a Yorkie like coat on him. These pups many times have a thin coat. The Yorkie does not have an under coat like other dogs and they tend to get cold easily especially as puppies. They like to be picked up because they get warmth and comfort from being held. Try to make sure he has a warm place to cuddle up in and maybe a blanket when you can't warm him up yourself.
