I made a closet for Zeus and will be making another one for Thalia down the road. I LOVE the "bone windows" that some have, lol. TBH, there really are not a lot of dog closet varieties. I personally found more looking for doll closets and children's closets/armoires than dogs. Might not hurt to look at that variety. :) |

I thought about that but with the children armoire's are they big enough??? My thought is maybe find ideas that I like and let the bf figure out how to make them into one that is big enough! |

I have no doubt that some people would be able to get a doll/child's armoire but I haven't found one that can hold enough. ;) |
Mina's closet is a very old wardrobe. The left side is where clothes were hung,my DH put 3 rods spaced evenly apart. The right side has a "hat closet",this is a tiny shelf with a door, blankets go there. Below that are 5 drawers, one for pjs,one for all of the leashes and the other furkids clothes go in the others. This has worked really well for me. |

I think I would want a chest of at least 4 drawers with a section to one side with a door that opens into the area where you can hang some items and shelves underneath for blankets and and maybe even a couple of carriers. Kind of like a smaller sized arnoire. Canwood Armoire, Natural - Walmart.com |
1 Attachment(s) I used a slightly converted bookcase for ZoE's closet. Starting from the bottom... there are two baskets of pee pads, then a bar hanger for her clothes. The next two shelves are baskets for various things, bows in one, grooming supplies (nail clippers, trimmers, sciscors) in another, summer stuff (water bottles, cooling get mat, life vest) in yet another, etc. Then is my bedroom tv :p On the top shelf I have two big baskets. In one of them I put things that I've bought extra of....if there's a toy I bought that ZoE really likes, I'll buy a few extra and toss them up there. The other basket holds extra blankets. Between the two, I keep my purse/carriers...only one (Kwigy Bo putty) up there when I took this pic. On the outside, nearest my dressser, I have hooks that hold leashes & harnesses. I love having everything in one set place...makes things much easier to find. I do wish it had doors...stuff just gets extra dusty hanging around, and I'd really like it to have a drawer or two. But it coordinates with my bedroom furniture and fits in my very small living space, so it's working for now. Once all my other house projects are done (if ever ) I'd think about tackling a custom project too! |
Karan- Thank you soooooo much for the picture. Its given me a couple of ideas. A few questions for you: 1. Would you want doors for the whole piece or just over the hanging clothes area? 2. Do you know about how many items you are able to hang in that area? 3. Do you know about how wide and high your closet is? Thanks so much!!!! |
I have a doggie armoire that I love - it's so functional. I'm going to try to post pictures - I'm afraid my pics aren't that good - the doors open and have hooks for leashes and there are 2 drawers that are deep and hold a lot. If you like it and want more info please pm me - I think I ordered it from Frontgate but I just looked and its no longer listed there. |
My pictures are too large - I have to figure out how to make smaller....?? |
