Pregnant yorkie?? So this saturday it should be her due date. I know you guys cant tell, but I dont know if shes pregnant or not! Her belly has gotten bigger than it was, but when I look up yorkie pregnancy pictures, other dogs have bigger stomachs. Shes had a few times where she refused to eat and she also had a little morning sickness (threw up twice). Right now shes in a bad mood. She barks at anyone who opens the door to come in, except for my sister. She also bit me yesterday on the hand. Do you think its false pregnancy? Im worried that it is but I dont know. |
You need to post this in the breeder section |
I'm confused- your title says "pregnant yorkie" then you say Sat should be her due date..?? Do you know for sure? Have you taken her to the Vet? If not I would make an apt ASAP |
Sorry I couldnt find the breeder section! :) Yes saturday is the 63rd day so im going with that. I havent been to a vet yet though. Also, I am not a byb just so yall know. This was 100% accidental. |
Woops my percent sign turned into "%". |
The breeder section is on the main "YT" page.. You know where you click General section its below that.. almost at the bottom. You should take her to the Vet and get an ultrasound so you can see how many pups are in there... |
Thanks and yes, I will. |
Definitely take her to a vet asap. Praying all goes well. There are many experienced breeders here on the forum that can help you with advice and tips. But for sure get to a vet yesterday :) |
Have your momma xrayed immediately. You are going into deep water with absolutely no knowledge about what is going on. Did you do ANY research on pregnant dogs, or how they whelp, or what you have to be prepared to do, to know, to have on hand to provide even the most basic care for this "possibly" pregnant dog? After your xrays tomorrow, (pray this is a false pregnancy), you will have a couple of days to get done, what it usually takes at a minumum, several months. If she is NOT pregnant, set up an appointment for spaying. |
You need to get her to the vet now and get an xray to know if shes pregnant and if she is you will know about how many to expect and the vet can tell you if they think she will be able to deliver them or if she will need a c-section. Do you have all the stuff you will need ready and know what to do and what signs to look for when the whelp is not going well and you will need a vet asap? |

I have done research since she mated. I have everything on hand and am prepared. If anything goes wrong im prepared to take her to the vet and I do understand the risks. |
I wish your little girl well with her whelp. I am a little confused why you haven't already had her xrayed if you have read up on all this. Will be praying for her. |

This was a accident. When I got the dog from the lady she told me that the dog had been spayed. Obviously she lied to me. If I had known I wouldnt have let her around my dog. I do have an appointment in a few hours, im just nervous because ive never dealt with this before. I was just coming for some answers. I thank you for your advice and I should know more in the next few hours. |
I'm so sorry this happened to you and your girl, do you know who was the father, are they close in size? I can't believe someone would lie about something like that, what a horrible thing to do. I wish you the best of luck! |

Ya. I saw an ad online and the lady had to get rid of her or she was going to drop her off at the pound. I took her in and shes the sweetest dog ever, I just wish the lady didnt lie about her. |
The father is my other dog. He is small in size, shes a tad bit bigger actually. Hes a shih tzu. |
Please keep us updated we do care about your baby and her babies. |

aimeeann1, did you actually see your dogs tie? If not, is it possible, time-wise, that she was already pregnant when you got her? I hate to think about that, because in that case you have no idea how large the father is, and when she is actually due. |
When you get a dog do people not normally give all info the have and vet records? I would have just thought she should have given the records that she was spayed. |

I have a neighbor that got a young -- maybe a little over a year old -- Cocker Spaniel female. The original owner had surrendered her back to the breeder and the breeder sold it to my neighbors on a spay-neuter contract. They did as they had promised and took her to the vet to get spayed. They later got a call from the vet saying that he had opened her up only to discover that she had already been spayed. I would have been so angry over that situation, and my dog being cut open unnecessarily. |

That happened to us quite a few years ago, we adopted a beautiful australian terrier from the ARL and agreed to spay her. Our vet felt horrible after cutting her open and finding she had already been spayed, but we couldn't see any scarring or anything. Sadly we didn't have her long as she got loose one night and hit by a car:( To the OP, best wishes for your dog to have a safe whelp and healthy pups. :) |
