praying for a speedy recovery// Morgan weighed 4 lbs when he was neutered and he came through with flying colors |
Praying all goes well and he has a quick recovery :hands: |
Thank you all so much. It's just so scary when I remember what happened so long ago but it seems like yesterday to me. They did not do pre opt testing on my little one back then. I feel somewhat better knowing it will be done this time. Pistol is already micro chipped, his shots are up to date and he is having a dental while he is under. It just makes me very nervous. I am staying at the vet hospital in the waiting room while he has the procedure done. Last time I was at home when they called to say he did not make it through he surgery. It helps to hear positive out comes even though I trust my vet fully. |
I will keep Pistol in my prayers for a safe procedure! |
I have been a foster mom to many little Yorkie boys that got neutered. The worst part is waiting for it to be over. Yes, problems can happen but pretesting helps prevent the unexpected. Neutering is much less invasive than spaying. I can go on and on, you will worry no matter what facts I quote for you. Just know you can count on us for prayers and support. My Vet tells me it is not fearful or emotional for them. They wake up and feel sore for a day or two and that is it. I think she is right. Please up date us when it is over. Prayers and hugs, T |
I had my female spayed when she was 3.8 pounds. We had the pre op bloodwork done and she did great. |
I waited to have Gracie spayed because she was such small puppy. I think you have to have a great deal of trust in your vet. If the vet is experienced in doing surgery on small animals it helps a lot. When you go in for his testing ask as many questions as you like. The vet should be comfortable answering your questions and not feel insulted that you would ask. Some vets work mostly all larger animals and want to treat the small ones just like the larger ones. Run from that kind of vet. I drove several miles past a few different vet clinics to get Gracie's spay done by someone with the kind of experience I was comfortable with. Your little guy should do fine if he is in experienced and skillful hands. |
Tucker was 6 months and 2.5 pounds. He will be just fine :) |
