Finally Decided I started a thread back in January about treat puzzles. Bogie and Jada both eat so fast that I know it isn't good for them. Bogie has actually choked at least 4-5 times over the years. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...t-puzzles.html It took me forever to finally make up my mind on which treat puzzles to purchase. I ended up with two Nina Ottosson puzzles. The Brick and Dog Magic. They came yesterday and supper was a success at least for slowing them down. Bogie had a harder time than Jada but he finally did get all of his meal eaten. The Dog Magic is a lot harder than the Brick. I am so happy that it slowed my chow hounds down. Amazon had the best prices hands down. Most places these were around $40.00 at Amazon they were a total of less than 41.00 and free shipping. I give these puzzles :thumbup::thumbup: |
I won the puzzles in the raffle. I never thought about using them with meal time. Those look awesome though! The ones I got are dishwasher safe! :) |
Glad it is slowing your kids down too! |
They are so cute! Awesome idea for them to slow them down on their eating and exercising their brains! |
I have tried two or three different slow feed bowls. They don't slow mine down one iota!! These work great for slowing them down. My DH said they will never get this.haha they fooled him, especially Jada. |
I didn't think my guys could do it either. It amazed me with my 11 yr old poodle was the first to figure it out! They are smart creatures. Crimson wouldn't do it but I caught her doing it when we weren't in there. :) |
Jada & Bogie are so cute & smart! I tried the puzzles on my guys, Momo just wanted the pieces to play w/ & Turbo kept barking @ Momo loll. It's got to be a one on one thing for us, but it's mighty fun! Quote:

I don't need to slow either of mine down on their eating. They are pretty good at eating correctly. However, I think I'd like to try these just to see how smart my kiddos are. I really think Shelby-Dale is super smart. He would probably figure the puzzles out fast. It would be fun to see how long it took Mandie. I know she's smart, but she likes to hide it. LOL!! |
So cute. |
We received the brick in this past ge from brezofleur ( thank you!) sugar figured it out pretty quickly. Curri had to observe a while. I'm looking at the twister as a little higher difficulty alternative so they each have one!! |
What food do you feed? |
I feed California natural sweet potato and venison (thank goodness it wasn't recalled) |
They are so cute figuring out how to get to their kibble! Bogie will figure it out probably by tomorrow. LOL This is a great idea!! |
Love it...I will have to look into getting one of these puzzles |

How cool! I love this :) Might be getting a couple puzzles... |
I dunno the cost of the ones from Jenny but they can go in the dishwasher and that is worth the money in my book! |

I'm glad the puzzles work for Bogie and Jada at mealtime. They are so cute working on them! We received our first doggy puzzle yesterday -- a gift from a friend. Can't wait to try it out. |

I can bring mine to your house for the meetup if you'd like! :) |
My boy Yoshi is so finicky. The ONLY way he'll eat kibble is from a puzzle. So I fill up his puzzle twice a day. We love them! |
Tibbe has the one on the right that I think Jada had - or one very like it - and he can ace that thing in about a minute or less. I can't put much food in each of the little places so I have to use his kong toys for mealtimes, too. But I don't use them because he bolts his food or anything but just for the challenge of it. Tibbe loves them and if you put them down with a food bowl with food, he chooses the puzzles to eat out of. He'd much rather have the activity and challenge with his meals I guess. Looks like your babies are going to enjoy these. |

Jada is a stinker though, and I love watching her work the puzzle. She goes around in a circle and removes the bone shaped cover and she eats all the frozen green beans. She goes back after all the bones are off and beans are eaten and then eats her kibble :D |
I love that Jada goes for the good stuff first. :) |

I think I am ordering the Twister. The Brick will be good for Curri and Sugar is ready for a bigger challenge :D |
