Where is Minnie's fluff?? Any opinions or thoughts??

Looks like she might be mixed with Chi, but you never know. Some just don't turn out to be good examples of the breed. My two are pure bred, and due to their coats, size, and floppy ears, many people don't realize that they are full-blooded Yorkie.

If your pup is healthy and has a great temperament, then you are fortunate regardless of whether Minnie is pure bred or not. However, if you were promised a pure bred AKC pup and paid a pure bred price and she turns out to be mixed, then the breeder committed fraud, should be reported to the AKC, and you should get some of your money back.

I would say that she's mixed for sure. Looks like chi or min pin (more chi) to me.

She looks mixed i was thinking min pin but she is beautiful

She does look like a mix with a short-coated breed. She is a cutie! Darling little pixie face and smart appointments. Looks very dainty, petite and the name Minnie fits her. I imagine she is a smartie, too. She has a curious, inquisitive quality to her eyes, as if she is always busy figuring it all out and trying to outguess and outfox Mommie!

Her hair is very short. How old is she?

I don't know what to think. I love her no matter what she's amazing and part of our family but it would be odd if she's not. I have the papers and I saw a pic of her mom and dad she does resemble some of both that I've seen but who knows. If she is a yorkie will her fluff grow late?? I'm bit sure if I should say anything to the breeder about my thoughts or just let it go because I'm not giving her back if she's not legit. Opinions or thoughts anyone??

She's 10 weeks today. Does that make a difference?? Is there hope for her fluff??

I would think she would be fluffier by now but am no expert. I think I would send pictures to the breeder at least.

Did you actually see the mom & dad at the breeders home, or just see photos of them?

Can you post the pictures of the parents? Did you order your puppy online? I really do understand the frustration of being lied to, hoping and waiting to find out. What do your papers say about your cutie patootie?

I think they usually get fluffy pretty quickly, at 3 or 4 weeks???? IDK really as it has been so long since I've seen Yorkies that young. I won't pick out a Yorkie early because I simply can't tell enough what it will be like until I meet the dog. But I would expect at 10 wks. a Yorkie pup would be a furball. I'd tell the breeder as she needs to know there is no sign of a mustache or anything growing. Sure is a sweetiepie. If she's part MinPin, she's likely be a hyper smartie you'll need to control well but very intelligent. If she's mixed with Yorkie, all the better. I imagine a Yorkie/MinPin mix would be a very smart, aggressive, tenacious, loving dog and one that you'll need to keep from running your life like a benevolent dictator wearing a tiara!!! I love dogs like that and I love her.

Looks like a mix to me for sure. Can you be certain the parents she showed you we indeed the parents to that pup? I saw a case once where the pup sold and parents to the pup were shown and turned out the dad was not the dad.

She looks like she has chihuahua in her. I had a friend that paid for what she thought was an AKC yorkie. Saw what was supposed to be the parents, but one look at the pup and the vet told her I hope you didn't pay for a full breed because this dog is yorkie and chihuahua mix. Test confirmed it yet she had AKC papers saying it was full yorkie. You just never know. She is a cutie though.

I'm not an expert but which ever parent that is in the picture doesn't look like a yorkie to me...I don't know what it would be but your puppy sure is cute!

With having paperwork that says she's a purebred do you think there's anything I can do I love her and would never give get back but I still feel like justice should be done to the fakers. Breeding

I'd just look at the pictures of the parent that you posted and those in the Yorkie dog books and go to the breeder and ask her what is going on. That picture of one of the parents doesn't look like a Yorkshire Terrier to me. If the dog is registered with AKC or some other organization, I would contact them. Maybe a purebred dog, even one with "papers" died or couldn't reproduce somewhere along the line and another dog was substituted and the papers passed to that dog unbeknownst to AKC or any breed registering organization. I guess it is possible that the parent is a breed variation from out of the blue from it is one I have never seen. But you can see from many dogs pictured here that that parent's picture you posted really doesn't favor a Yorkshire Terrier that much.

I would say if you paid a "purebred" price for your dog, you have something of a refund coming. I think one of the online canine DNA labs could probably run a test on your pup to see what breed combo's made up the genetics of your Minnie. Money aside, you do have a sweet and darling little girl dog. But you can try to protect future purchasers of puppies from your breeder by trying to report her to the place she advertised through and any registration organization she registers her litters through.

In my opinion, I'm sorry but there is no way that she is a Yorkie. A Yorkie/Chiwawa mix sure but not a full blooded Yorkie. Plus the photo of the mom/dad is not a full Yorkie either !

What registry is the paperwork from? (akc, ckc, apri)

Maybe you could call and explain your situation to them and get some advise. You can also call the breeder and she what they are willing to do to rectify the situation. If she is charging for a full breed Yorkie and she is clearly not, that is fraud. You should ask for a portion of your money back.

Aca paperwork and the family yorkie line info that's why it's kinda odd to me. I'm going to take her to the vet next week and then go from there before I say anything to the breeder u want to triple check everything

If the paperwork is ACA instead of AKC you may have more problems getting the breeder to do anything. I would still call them and see what you can do. Good luck.

There is a DNA test that can be done. But you have to weigh your odds of the added cost to find out for sure what is quit obvious to those of us who know Yorkies. And the chance that the breeder may not even care. Probably will not admit to anything and claim all is as it states in the paperwork and never offer any type of partial refund or any at all.

If she is advertising that female dog as a purebred Yorkshire Terrier parent of a puppy she is selling, there is reason to believe she is possibly committing fraud, based on its appearance. Maybe she thinks it really is a purebred Yorkie and was fooled herself when she bought that dog but you have reason to inquire and investigate her claim your dog is purebred Yorkshire Terrier based on the fact that those dogs you pictured really don't look much at all like most other Yorkshire Terriers. Just go to Google Images Search and type in Yorkshire Terrier and see how many images come up that look quite different from her parent and your pup's pictures. They all have much more hair, which is of a silkier quality and not flat-coated, most have prick ears and shorter muzzles, higher foreheads and taller heads. I hope that you can get some legal redress and stop her selling her dogs as purebred Yorkshire Terriers based on the pictures provided.

She even has the parents and grandparents info on about them being purebred as well
