strong dislike for little dogs! I hate little dogs! I usually find them to be viscous, yappy, annoying dumb things! Yesterday my better half was going to her car to go to school, a little Yorkshire terrier female ran up to her and pawed at her wanting to be picked up, the girlfriend looked around for an owner and none was found. She brought her inside saying "guess what I found... a puppy" Half of the hair on her face was cut, her nails were longer than mine and she is skin and bones either had a previous litter or? (Going by her nipples) she likes to make a.nest in tight spots! We gave her a bath, and cut her nails she does well in my pack! If she was missing for a while her nails would have been worn down.. Look for the original owner? No thank-you:) Besides she's a total daddy's girl! Won't fit my tattoos but I ain't keeping her in a purse! |
So now how do you feel about little dogs? :D |
I think this is my favorite post of the day!! :) |

Oh, I'm so glad she is safe and warm. She needs to see a vet and get scanned to see who she belongs to and whether or not she is ill or hurt. Dogs can successfully hide illness and/or pain, especially in survival or flight mode, as she's probably been in. She could have worms, very bad teeth, etc., so get a good vet exam and diagnostic tests done. She could have been on the run for a while. We recently had a member here whose dog was lost for about 3 weeks on the Disneyworld grounds and survived. I would do the right thing and try to find her owner. Maybe the dog is ill and the owner couldn't keep weight on her due to a disease or something or she's just refusing food due to a behavioral issue. Just because her nails are long doesn't mean she hasn't been missing a while or anything. Maybe she's got orthopedic problems and can't venture very far without pain from some condition or the owner was ill, couldn't get her to the groomer for a while. She could have escaped when a tradesman left the door open and ran out of fear once she was out and about. How would you feel now should she go missing and no one look for you, if you care so much now? You have to do the right thing and look for the former owner. It could be a very sick child who really needs her dog or something like that. |
LOL!! A literal overnight change! :D |
My first Yorkie, Marley, was turned into my office one day by a woman who burst through the door saying, "what town is this, and do you recognize this dog?". Well... I didn't know the dog, but her heart seemed to be in the right place... Marley apparently had ventured halfway across the busy highway in front of my office when the woman's husband pulled his F150 crossways to block traffic while the woman jumped out to save Marley. She couldn't keep him as she was on her way to North Georgia to be with her sister who was having surgery. Well... he's mine now, and he's the perfect dog... well mannered, compasionate, handsome... I NEVER considered getting a dog at this stage in my life, but here we were, thrown together by circumstance. Since I got him at the office, I took him to the office -- every day. He had to work out his Vet bills by entertaining clients and quieting children. He was excellent in this role. Chapter Two is a little different. Marley was such a perfect dog, I decided to get another Yorkie -- a tiny little boy from a show home who turned out to be a cross between Chuckie and Cudjo... go figure... but I love them both. |
Vet check up next week. Her teeth are great but will still have vet look at them. She is young and tires out Connor our 4 month sheltie puppy. We have looked on Craigslist for an owner no luck! Its not that we don't want to give her back, we just are scared. Can someone shoot me a Pm with their e mail so they can post for me? I'm on a cellphone |
When you get to the Vet you can have them scan her for a chip- if there is no chip I would keep her. Glad you made an apt- hopefully she gets a clean bill of health- sounds like she found a great home. |
Oh... and his nails were very long... and he was dirty, and he had a collar on that had grown too tight, and his hair had grown over his eyes to the point I don't know how he could see. But talk about a 'diamond in the rough', after professional grooming, premium dog food, and lots of love, he is a beautiful dog, inside and out. |

It's amazing how these little ones will convert a non-believer - my hubby didn't want a "little" dog either - yea, well, we now have two. :) And no, my hubby does not carry either one around in a purse either. Can't wait to see pictures of her! Oh, and what are you going to name her? |

You really should post flyers and an online add yourself anywhere you can to try to find the owner. The dog could have been staying with friends while the sick owner was hospitalized from an attack or surgery and the dog escaped or was stolen from its yard, then escaped from the thief. All ways for dogs to get away as you likely know if you have ever had a small dog. Someone's very heart could be breaking right now because their little sweetheart has been lost and they've been running ads in the paper or posting online on many sites - or they aren't computer literate. All kinds of things could happen to separate this dog from its rightful owner. Once you make a concerted, true effort to locate the rightful owner and have no takers, then you can know that you did all that you could and used the due diligence that you would hope someone who found one of your babies would use if they found one of your big dogs. If I were you I would have her scanned for a chip, call local shelters and Animal Control, local vets and post an add on Craigslist and anywhere else I could find to post. I know all of us Yorkie owners here would want a good effort by you to find any one of us if it were our dog you found. Nobody wants to think of someone finding their dog and saying well, we're scared and we looked a bit around and on Craigslist and she's ours now. |
Thinking Ponyo or Rogue Ham was the first thing we could get her to eat. But her agility, and speed are amazing hence rogue |

From the pictures, judging from the silver on her head, she's young. Around 4 months. Personally, I think she'd look great in a purse :) |
