Blonde yorkies??
 

The other thread made me think..

I am always looking at new yorkie pups online..I have done this for years because I love the breed and enjoy seeing how different and beautiful they all are,but this week I found an add from a woman who lives locally,so I actually know her dogs,but my first thought (without knowing who she was) was "MIX!".The pups are 11 days old and are being sold for 400€ (about $450,which is a high,normal price for a yorkshire terrier).

The site she uses to sell her pups is a local one,so I phoned in and asked about the pups,and she swears up and down that she has NO idea why one of the pups is blonde.She said that she has had DHA testing done (and will show it to any potential buyers) because she has no idea how this has happened or why,and she also owns the parents and grandparents of the parents to this pup..so,what´s happened here?? :confused:

I believe her because I have seen her dogs and how careful she is,but being as I´ve NEVER seen something like this for myself and I´m sure that no one here has EVER heard of a blonde yorkie,I dont know weather she´ll be able to sell this pup...who will believe it´s purebred??? Is this possible?? :confused:

I´m just really curious ;) I´m not thinking of buying one of her pups,but I did consider her years back when we started our search,but she didnt have a litter avalable back then.This is a first for me too.

I´m going to admit that if I did go to see a litter and they were that colour,I wouldent want one.I´m not saying it may not be cute,but it´s not for me :rolleyes:

There are "blonde" yorkies they are also knows as gold or golden yorkies. As far as I know they are purebred but they are not accepted into the standard since the golden color is considered a color fault. I don't know too much about them I'm sure others will post more information on them

that was it golden...i couldnt remember what i knew i had read somewhere before. they are gorgeous lil babies.

They are gorgeous, my neighbor has one and she's really cute my mom loves her golden coat

Blazer's dad is blonde. Otherwise known as a "golden" Yorkie. Of the 6 pups in Blazer's litter three were brown and three were black but I think that all of them are super light right now. They're 8 months old and getting more "blonde" as they grow. :)

I think the blonde one is super adorable.

Gold dust is the term used in Germany and that particular one pictured is out of two biewers.

I thought these gold dust, were another color of the Biewers, same with the Biro...Those are more brown I believe? The gold from my understanding are born a strawberry blond color, then lighten up as they get older. I believe member Julia Howard has a grown blond yorkie....there is a thread on here where she responds and the pic is there. Think the thread is are my newborn puppies yorkies, or something to that effect.

I think you are right Jaqui. The gold dust biewers look much whiter than that.

$450 for a purebred Yorkie from a reputable breeder in Spain? OMG! Guys, I'm moving to Spain.

Hi All - All of you don't know me - but I have been coming here for years and will introduce myself in the new member sections. But anyway - as a quick answer - the blond yorkie is a very recessive gene - and you can register them - check out www.myyorkietreasure.com She does a good job explaining about parti's. I am not making any type of recommendation - but I have 4 yorkies that I have gotten from this breeder and I have been very pleased with their personalities, etc. Thanks and good luck in your decisions. I don't care what color they are - you can't go wrong with a yorkie!
