Somebody please explain why rolling in your pee is so much fun?? I swear this is the dirtiest little girl I have ever met  I am either going to give her baths every hour or shave her bald!! It's so bad we no longer call her Stella it is just Stinky or PeePee Fur :p |
LOL Can't help you there. I have never particularly enjoyed it myself. :p:D Seriously, I remember reading stuff years ago about why they do it, and I have seen many do it...which doesn't make me like it any more. :p She may 'outgrow' this behaviour, especially after she's spayed, but you'll get good at bathing her a long time before that happens if she keeps it up. Good thing she's little! :D |
I feel bad because she KEEPS diaper rash and she does not even wear diapers :p And HOW do you manage to be 3.5 lbs and pee UNDER your food dish mat?? And DO NOT even get me started on eating poo and taking it in your bed to cuddle with!!! Guinness even turns his nose up at her sometimes :( |
Wow! We haven't had that experience (thank heavens) or Sophie would have been washed bald by now. I really feel for you. My DH asked me the other day, did I think Sophie smelled stinky. I said yes a bit. I just took her into the bathroom with her shampoo and washed her from her face, underneath to her tail. Kind of a 1/2 bath. I didn't want to get her soaking wet cause it's so cold outside, but I believe I will be bathing her every other week or so because she walks in her pee every time she goes to use the pad. This could get really expensive for you, especially if you have to pick up a pee pee pad after it's been used only once. I'm afraid I can't offer you any advice but hope you know, I really do feel for you. Hope you find an answer that really helps. |
Pee-eeeewwww. Had a lot of dogs in this house, puppies, too, but thankfully never had one roll in pee yet. Had a couple that tried to roll in poop outside but got there first all but once! |
I just do not get it... Guinness is a clean freak and then we have little Stinky :p |
If there is pee under the food dish mat, she may is peeing at the edge of the mat. Maybe put a puddle pad next to...even slightly under...the mat. You can start moving it away a little at a time after she gets used to the pad. You def don't want diaper rash. Poor little girl is confused, maybe. |
Oh the heavenly scent of the Ode de la Urine Parfume is simply too divine to resist! |

Oh, I love the cute part of a puppy but don't miss this part one little bit. Stay strong, Alisha. One day she will get it and you can stop being a daily combination of a groomer and a cleaning lady. It has been years since Tibbe peed in the house! haha. :) |
Hmmm...sounds like you may need to cover the entire area so there is no longer any edge anywhere. The pads I get are white on white, but there is an edge...but I kind of doubt it's the blue color. You def do want to get her into the middle of the pad more...and away from the feeding station for her business. We did the complete overlap thing when we had a kitty get a urinary blockage and they cath'd him, then gave him 2xdaily subq fluids and he 'leaked' clear liquid like a sieve until his urethra healed. We got the Publix puppy pads...the ones we still get, and overlapped them over the entire area he could 'drag' himself to...he couldn't walk at first after almost dying from the blockage...happened very suddenly, by the way, and we rushed him to the ER Vet. We like these pads...they make great wet feet soppers, too. Anyway, we used the pads, even wrapped him in them like a receiving blanket on a newborn, trying to keep his fur dry until he healed, and used the maxi-overnight fem protect pads under the puppy pads in the crate when we took him back and forth to the vet until the vet decided we should skip the 2xdaily transport routine and subq him at home every other day or so. |
Oh my goodness! Bless you guys. KS has never done this but I'd have to find a way to let her know that is bad. |
Yes, make the pad where there are no edges. When I first got Mandie, she would go on the edges..then I got a pad holder that had snap on sides. She still will go to the edge every once in a while, but usually just when I have forgotten to give her a new pad lol What a little "stinker" you have..hehe. I think she'll grow out of it. Oh, and I remember months ago that another poster posted about her Yorkie taking poo to bed and kicking the toys to the curb. They must be related hehe |
I just gave her a bath and while blow drying her it finally hit me.... She ALWAYS smells like a hamster even right after a bath :p |

My guys do that constantly, except they roll in the lawn/grass, given that "floral" scent, is predominant where I take them to hunt (along a near Bayou). It would be a little difficult to get one to stop that action, given that there's no counter action you can point out and praise. |

:thumbup: That's it...I knew it had to do with scent, and deleted that ambiguity ("has to do with scent") out of my previous post because I just couldn't remember the details and was not thinking of prey drive...and you'd think I would...doggone my Etch-A-Sketch brain...lol. Thanks for refreshing that in my mind. I had a 'natural huntress' Shep/Lab who rolled all the time in the grass and fortunately LOVED baths and would jump in nightly with the kids. lol She brought me every furry rodent that she could touch, even when she was on a spiked choker collar and steel cable run, and was relentless chasing squirrels across the yard as they ran along the power lines above and tormented and teased her. lol It is entirely possible your little girl is a huntress, too...but maybe she will chill on the pee rolling anyway. :p |
With the poop, I would try to start feeding her pineapple. See if that works. Instead of pee pad maybe newspaper. Line her whole area. It is cheaper |

The more I think about it the more it makes sense because if you blink this little one is GONE just disappeared but next thing you know you will see her army crawl slowly out from under the couch or chair sneaking up to bite Guinness's ears or paws. |
I know how you feel Quote:

ALL of them regardless of size, were bread as Varminteers, that can be as determine and vicious as a Tasmanian Devil ! My Male Sneakers literally jumps up and pulls his Harness off of the Hook I have them hanging on, to get us to go hunt. That's about a 3' straight up leap. (I'll have him trained to put it on himself soon ) For those of you who may have some sort of wooded/heavily grassed area near, to take your little guys out, and let them sniff/move around in it. It's an absolute delight for them to do that. I use Retractable Leash's on my guys, and will hold them back until I see exactly what it is that they have focused on, BEFORE I trip that release and let them charge. You CAN do that safely ! |
Crimson did all (except eat the poop) this for 3-4 weeks after being home for about a month. It did stop but It drove me nuts. Especially, the sleeping with Mr. Hanky! Ew! I kept a new pad out everytime she pee'd because I read that if you keep their area clean that is all they will know. Now she walks around her pee instead of in it! Thank goodness! |
Sooo I just caught the brat pee'ing in her brothers empty food dish....:facepalm: |
HAha... I just cleaned up pee last night but I'm not sure who it was. It was on the mat the water/food bowls sit on. BTW, after seeing your baseboard chewed up.... I was like yay! I didn't have to deal with that. UNTIL.... I noticed 2 corners in the bathroom.... i don't even know when it happened :( (Sorry for the run-on sentence :)) |
:mad::mad::mad: It's one thing go roll in your pee BUT now as I having been fighting to get to sleep all night since it is the first night Ryan is back out of town for work so the bed alone thing is odd but just as I get to sleep I am awoke by puking noises and then the smell of dog poo and something dripping on my head and pillow it is THEN that I realize Stella is in her kennel on my nightstand projectile vomiting dog poo she must have ate today onto me, my bed and pillow :mad::mad::mad: She is soooo NOT cute at this moment :thumbdown |

Sure Stella mommy REALLY wants to be alone with daddy out of town the first night taking you to the ER at 2am because you are playing with a toy but also still puking up poo with tony traces of blood when she is on mandatory OT at work... Grrrrrrrrrr ok finished venting!! |
Praying for Stella and you. |
It appears that chewed up leaves and big chucks of your poo irritate delicate little throats when coming back up BUT it does stop you from wanting to eat all the treats at the vet or wanting to play with the vet tech at 2 in the morning  |
