| You are an Angel! You were put in a potentially heart breaking situation, and it ended up not having rainbows and hearts all the way, but you are handling things and keeping those babies alive and healthy. I'm so sorry you lost one, I pray the other 3 keep thriving under your watchful care. (((HUGS)))

| YT Addict | well after much research and thought i decided to find someone with more experience and tools available than i to care for these precious babies they mean more to me now than anything. although im not their caregiver any longer they arent too far from me. we almost lost one of the girls last night. i had to tube feed her electrolites as she bacame very dehydrated quickly at 4:45am they went to anothers home where they have incubator supplies for subq fluids if needed.weights were not bad remaining boy was 4.8 ounces girl 4.0 and other girl was 3.9 as of 9pm last night. i wanted the best for them it just so happens it wasnt me yet when they are older and eating on their own i may get them back or at least when they're 12 weeks.

| Excellent decision....I know it was hard, but you HAVE to know your limitations, and you realized yours. THAT takes a lot more courage and love and dedication, than knowing you are just not up to the job at the level of care that is needed, and yet, rather than placing these babies where they have a fighting chance at survival, you just stubbornly forge ahead, unable to provide even the basic care these babies required, and the babies pay the ultimate price....they die. Relinquishing those babies so they can get the level of care they need to survive, vaults you into a position of great respectability, and true compassion. Good for you sweetie.....NOW you have done everything you can do to help those babies survive! Please keep us posted on their progress....we breeders that have walked down this path, have been very well aware that you had an insurmountable task saving these babies. That does NOT make you evil or uneducated or stupid....you just got slammed into a position you had no working knowledge or equipment to deal with. You realizing your limitations in this situation, was essential and getting those babies to someone that you think has the skills to save them, shows remarkable compassion and a sincere dedication to those precious babies. | I am so sorry that this happened to you and your sweet Yorkie. God bless you and Hugs. Prayers too for the babies and you. You did the right thing. To other readers, it is sad things like this that make us discourage novices from breeding and having a litter. We really don't want anyone to suffer, human or Yorkie. Breeding Yorkies takes dedication and years of hands on experience. Things can go wrong quickly and often do. Mothers die, babies die. This is such a heart break for a breeder. A good breeder will know to give her females the best testing for genetic and other concerns, all shots, dentals, worming etc. will be up to date. The dogs will have been fed an excellent diet all their life and in perfect health. A study of the studs pedigree, screening for any disease or genetic problems is carefully checked before selecting a male. The stud fee and contract are signed. Some times artifical insemination is used if the stud is too far away. The breeder watches weight gain, diet, and is vigilant with the health of the pregnant bitch. Many good breeders pay gladly for ultra sound and or x-rays that tell them how many pups to expect. They know almost to the day when the puppies will arrive and have all tools and equipment ready to go. The Vet is called and on standby when labor starts. (and or EMERGENCY Vet is on speed dial). Whelping dogs are never left alone. Even with all that professional preparation and thousands of dollars spent, thing can go wrong. That is why we encourage everyone, to go to a professional AKC breeder to get a puppy. Breeding Yorkies is very risky. Thanks for letting me say it one more time.
