Juliette's hair 2 Attachment(s) Her hair looks thin with a baby fine texture. She's 8 months old, what can I expect? Anyone experience this? My Jacks has lots of hair. I'm hoping her hair will become long and silky. |
No expert but she looks like a silky coat to me. |
Anxious to read the responses. Our Bella's hair is exactly the same and she, too is 8 months old..................... |
3 Attachment(s) Heres some pictures of jack, his hair is sooo thick and grows so fast. Juju's hair on her head is also silverish. |
I'm not an expert either, but looks silky to me. Love Juliette's colors. She reminds me of my Max. Max's coat was silky from early on, but Teddy's coat continued to change until after he was 2 years old, growing silkier. |
Her hair on her head is also silver, she has a little gold coming in but mostly silver. Poor thing hasn't lost all of her baby teeth so our vet is going to pull them when I get her spayed. |
Here on Yorkie Talk we have many threads (posts) about types of Yorkie coats and colors. Please check out the posts, you will learn so much. Briefly, Many puppies start out black and tan, this can change into dozens of different shades. Puppies with a thin whispy hair often grow beautiful silky adult coats. Puppies with fuzzy thick hair sometimes grow a cotton coat. Cotton coats may break easily, be dull, knot and mat. Show coats shine brightly like polished steel blue and spun gold. Show coats take a huge amount of time to keep them beautiful. Retained baby teeth is very common and can be removed when she is spayed. Pictures please ! We love watching them grow up. Welcome, we are happy to have you and Riley. |
2 Attachment(s) Jack has thick hair. I dont think its cottony but he seems to get knots easy. Any shampoo anyone can recommend? |
shampoo We use Pet Silk oatmeal, and conditioner My Jack has cottony hair. and Miss Bella is a silky it works good on both of them. Hope this helps:) Cheryl |
Where would I find the petsilk. I have tried just about everything at petsmart. |
Oops, I just replied to your other thread :) I'll say it here, too..JuJu's hair is so pretty and shiny. As for Petsilk, I believe Maximo sells it at her site: W. Fields Dog Boutique |
Her hair is shiny at times but sometimes it looks dull. When I got Jack everyone told me I would get another, that it's impossible to have only 1 Yorkie. Needless to say they were right. Their my addiction, lol. They sleep in the bed between me and daddy, lol. If anyone is looking for a great breeder and lives close to Texas, I would recommend Carrie West from Henrietta, TX or if your closer to Alabama, Kim Mullendore, she lives close to Tuscaloosa, AL. |

It looks like Juliette has a coat very similar to my Pixie. She has a silky coat but it's not real thick. I didn't get her until she was 13 months so I don't know what she looked like at 8 months but her coat grew to floor length at about 15 months. It looks lie both of your babies have nice coats. I use Pet Silk too. |
Your babies are gorgeous. I love my lil juju no matter what, but it's nice to know she may have a long silky coat in the future. I was in hopes she would grow a coat like her mom, the tan and black beauty in the 1st picture below. The 2nd pic is juju's dad and the 3rd is jacks daf and the 4th is his mom and dad. I never knew I would love 2 babies as much as them. |

2 Attachment(s) This is jacks mom and dad |
It looks fine to me...in my experience it is typical for Yorkies to have different thickness of hair. No two yorkies hair is exactly the same. |
