Yorkie Yakker | ![]() Is there a secret to this? I'm thinking about popping into a few offices just to get a feel for office staff and pricing. I thought I'd ask about his first visit and neutering. By the way, hello there! I'm new. ![]()

| ![]() Hello and welcome. I would make 'cold calls'. Find out what services they offer, pricing, availability, and distance. Google and look up any client reviews. Then based on these you can narrow your search. Maybe the vet 10 miles away isn't practical if they do not do emergency care or just being far in general. Are you looking for holistic, conventional or somewhere in the middle? You can get a feel for office staff a little over the phone, but def in person. However, why waste your time going if they are not what you want to begin with. Determine the must haves and go from there.

Yorkie Yakker | ![]() Thanks for the advice. I'll be honest, I don't really know WHAT I'm looking for... I like to travel so I'll need access to boarding from time to time and I've heard good things about an office close by that does boarding/grooming-the works. I may give them a try. ![]()

Based on a reference from someone on a Yorkie List about her Vet, I chose to just walk in one day and asked about the facilities and asked to look around the whole area. I even met all the Vet's and Staff that day as well. I let them know my concerns and what I expected of a Vet/Client relationship, to this day 11 years later I am still there. Heck they have even offered me a job several times, which I have turned down. I think as with any type of facility be it a Doggie Day Care, Groomer, etc, if they won't let you look around turn and go the other way.
