| Am I wrong or did you say she weighs 1.3k which is 2.9 lbs or more not to good with conversion. If that is the case she is almost big enough but I agree with waiting until her growth plates are done. Kyra came in heat at 6 months and we had her spayed at a year and 2.8 lbs.

| Senior Yorkie Talker | Hi.. yes, I see I did write that giving the wrong impression. I didn't want her to have a season as we are going to be away for two months. Based on this she advised me to do it at 6mths..in other words not before. She was done on the 1st Feb and we leave the 28th. I wanted the month with her to see she was fine. And also that my son didn't have to cope with seasons. Hollee is 1.3kgs which is +- 2.14lbs. He has recovered very well. Interestingly my sister has a small cross Chihuahua/? She is 7mths and weighs 1.45 and was spayed this week. Hers was very complicated as her pup had a hernia as well and being so small. She has recovered very well as well. Another interesting thing her vet told her best to spay before first season as there is an increased risk of mammary cancer later in life. Ave x
