| Hello I'm new! Hey! my name is Megan. I just recently came across this site and have been looking around for a few weeks. While I don't have a yorkie yet, I have wanted one for a very long time. I REALLY want a female, but I've read about males being more loving.(I'm not saying females are not) Advice & opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance! |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! I have both male & female... can't say who is more loving... I think it depends on the individual dog...

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | WELCOME to YT! Looking forward to hearing about your someday-yorkie . We have 2 males and 1 female - and all 3 are so loving! I'd say the mushiest mush of them all is Marcel (my avatar), bc he just turns into a puddle of goo, and you can cuddle him any time you're in the mood. Whereas w/ Wylie, it has to be when he's in the mood. And w/ Pfeiffer, she's kinda in the middle. I've heard females can be 'moody', but I've never seen that at all w/ Pfeiffer - she is as easy breezy as they get.

| Hi Meg and welcome. You sound like me waiting just short of forever for a Yorkie. You will find loads of information here. Then, when you get your pup you will have a better understanding of what to do.

| I agree with that it depends on the individual dog...cus I've had a TON of dogs so far in my long life and I find that the sex has NOTHING to do with cuddle-ablility. I used to think females were the more cuddly of the two cus that's what my mother thought to be true and I believed her. She only ever got females in my youth. I, on the other hand like both sexes in the house in our family and I have seen a mix of snuglyness from each dog individually. Sex has nothing to do it. |

| My Gracie is a real cuddle bug. You cannot sit down without her jumping in to your lap. She just feels that is her place. She is always at my side, even sits next to me as I vacuum (I don't know she may be watching to make sure I don't miss a spot) I don't think the sex has much to do with personality as long as the puppy has good genes and is properly socialized you should have a loyal friend. |

| Welcome to YT, Megan. Best wishes in your search for a puppy. Patience and lots of research will pay off with a healthy, beautiful pup. I have two cuddly, affectionate boys, but I know that there are many lovey girls here too.

| Welcome to YT...I have only owned females...and all three I think could be defined as total cuddle bugs...from what I have seen on here and w friends its the good breeder, good breeding and how they were raised starting from day one...not necessarily their gender!

| Welcome to YorkieTalk! My yorkie is extremely loving and loves everyone but my moms yorkie is not much into being loved on and cuddled like mine.
