Baby Gates 1 Attachment(s) How many YTers use baby gates? I currently at using a gate similar to this one Attachment 380421 but wanted to purchase another gate. I'm wanting to buy a walk-through gate and wanted to know if anyone uses one? If so, which kind and do you like it? Thanks! :) |
ZoE is 2yrs old now, so I rarely use gates. I do have one handy though for those times when I'm working on a home improvement or craft project and have stuff laying out & then need to run to the store for something. If I were to buy a new gate today, I would definately get a step through design. I'm getting to old to be climbing baby gates! |

Well I used a baby gate for about 2 days...then my 9 week Yorkie figured out how to climb over it. I took a video of her climbing over it, she was smart to figure it out! |
Between the daycare and the dogs we have gates EVERYWHERE, lol 2 are walkthrough gates which I love, and the rest are the kind in the pic you posted which I actually broke a toe going over.....okay maybe I was jumping over but still! LOL |
I used to use the gate that you have but it became a nuisance to hop over. I have 2 of these in my house and they are amazing! Easy to put together and easy to open and close. |
Munchkin Deco Wood Gate - Dark Wood - Best Price} you might want to try this one. Miss Mia was:( a very tall girl, very tall...she use to stand over Miss Mini:(...anyway...Miss Mia was a climber, a jumper, and there was no gate she couldn't climb, someone told me about this and I got it. I have 1 across my kitchen, one at the back doorway incase anyone coming in wasn't careful and let them out....I also put one in the doorway of the hallway leading to the bedrooms. I bought them at USA Baby buy one, get one half off, not sure if this is a sale they have often there... I like them to keep Mini out of the kitchen when I am busy and don't want to worry, to keep her contained incase someone with small kids etc, comes over and like the other day when I broke a pickle jar:D full with pickles....to keep her from stealing any of my coveted pickles while I cleaned up my mess...thank god all I had to do was rinse them:D:eek: |
We have 2 gates. This one: Evenflo Summit Pressure Mounted Metal Gate - Walmart.com They can be opened with one hand, open in both directions and were reasonably priced. Good luck picking one! |

2 Attachment(s) This is what I use for Chloe .... It's low enough for me to step over and I like the fact I can open the little door for her to come out. |
Our house is one story minus a loft and Callie fell on the stairs and there's no door at the top and we are using it for guests so we bought a walk through baby gate for the bottom of the stairs and it works great I got it at bed bath and beyond and I am going to get another one for my hallway I think. Baby gates are awesome! |

I have this kind...very pretty and "formal" looking, for the great room to the hall ways and each bedroom....I have a white one for the door into the utility room, from the kitchen....I have baby gates ALL over my house! My dogs would have to go thru at least 2 baby gates, in order to get to any outside leading door! I certainly wouldnt be so smug to say it will never happen, but I CAN say, it will be a cold day in Hell before any of these dogs are ever able to sneak, slip, bolt or even casually stroll out some door in this house, leading to the front yard! I LOVE baby gates....I have a pretty nice home, but it actually looks more like a feed lot now...fenced and crossed fenced, with baby gates and ex-pens blocking exits and confining babies from certain areas of the house, and kept IN certain areas........if my mother could see my home, she would be doing 360* spins in her grave! |
I love my walk through gate. Mine has a little door pass thorough for the cats. Mine is made by Carlson. It is heavy duty and takes a beating. |
