How about a Biewer !. They are extremely sweet and lovey. Get along great with Yorkies. And they are not girlie girl dogs ;) |

That was Miley Cyrus...no one knows what happened to Dakota Lindsey Lohab's pup mill barely 2# yorkie...although its rumored online it may have been CT there are tons of oics of LL dragging her yorkie by a leash attached to a collar. In general any larger dog with prey drive is a serious risk. Thus I again suggest a miniature Schnauzer similarly sized dog with a diverse persona, and a herding instinct. |
I was going to suggest a Biewer. Their temperment is different enough from a Yorkie and they are not a girly dog. Truthfully, they are more affectionate then the Yorkie. |
I really like the King Charles Cavalier spaniel. I was about to start looking for breeders when I stumbled upon Gracie. They are beautiful little dogs and if I did not fall so hard for the Yorkie I would probably still consider getting one. |
Wondering if you guys ever made a decision? |

I like Chihuahuas but I wouldnt dont have one either. 3 animals ago I asked for one and the husband said no way. My FIL has a dachshund and the dumb dog barks unstop.!! I agree with Alisha!!! 100%!!! |
Italian greyhound We have an Italian greyhound and a five month old yorkie poo pup. They are becoming good friends and love chasing each other. The IG is very gentle, quiet and loving. |
I have a lab and a biewer! I am looking to add a yorkie to the mix :) I have had a boston terrier before, great dogs, smart, easily trained and very friendly with other dogs and people, children, etc. Also, a protector, no one would come in the yard without her barking...but she wasnt an excessive barker. Ive also had an english mastiff, she was a rescue, and very much a gentle giant. No one would think about coming into our yard because she was so big, but she wouldnt hurt a fly. I adopted a kitten and she would just lay there and the little cat would play and bite her. lol Ive had a pitbull mix who was very friendly with people/children, but not other dogs. She actually lives with my mother in law :) And, Ive had a boxer mix. I got him as a puppy when I was 3-4 yrs old, and he lived until I was 16. He got along with all the other pets I mentioned, except the pit, who was adopted after him. He was kind with people, pets, children, everything. Honestly, I think it depends on the attitude more than the breed. If you teach them they have to be siblings and force them to get along, then you wont have a problem. You have to be the leader of the family (or your wife), and they will respect and follow your wishes. I knew getting a small dog after having the lab could cause a problem, but I separate when needed and make sure they get their own love and affection times. |
I also think Mini Schnauzers are awesome, I've owned 4 and all were super smart, and very loyal, and got along with everybody. |
Good Morning. I have 2 chihuahuas and 1 yorkie, you do not want a chihuahua for apartment living ,The least little noise and they bark their heads off.I love my chi's dearly but they are noisey dog's, My yorkie doesn't bark even when people come in she doesn't know, she just want's peoples attention. I think i got lucky with her being so quiet as she is 1 year old already. Just my 2 cent's. Anne/Luci:p |
