| Uni humps too! It's funny to me and gives her.something to do so I let her. If it bothers you just tell her to stop when she does it. |

| Glad it's normal. I thought maybe something was wrong with her. It doesn't bother me. Just weird to me. Always thought only male dogs hump but to see female do it is just weird and funny. |

| Yep girls hump. Mine does it when she gets mad and doesn't get her way. She was spayed before her first heat.

| I don't think it does either. Coco was spayed at 18 months and she humped until her back legs got so bad she couldn't do it anymore

| One of my girls humps. It cracks me up. She wasn't spayed until she was rescued (former breeder in a mill), and we always joke (sick sense of humor) she is just doing what she had to learn to love. While humping can be dominance related, it very often isn't. This isn't the original article I read, but here is a little more info if you are interested: Positively Fun Dog Training: Humping: Sex, Dominance or Fun?.

Now, what would ever prompt them to start humping so they'd learn that it feels good...I don't know. I'd say instincts, but Rory (spayed as a puppy) is NOT amused when Lane starts with her humpy routine. She'll do her shrill play bark, run over and get a toy and throw it at her, LOL. Lane never humps Rory, or other dogs for that matter, though, so I'm not sure why Rory doesn't like it, but Rory does seem to know she is playing I guess??? I sing My Humps to Lane and change it to "lovely Laney lumps," so we are clearly easily amused.

| I have been told that female humping is a dominance thing. My sister had a male and female Schnauzer and it was the female who humped and definitely was in charge. |

| My 3 love to puppy a stuffed "Puppy So Real" laborador toy ( http://images-p.qvc.com/is/image/t/30/t10830.001?$uslarge$ ). They will actually form a humping line to that they can take turns abusing "Humper-Nutter!" I find it to be hysterical and since they never hump anything else- I don't see it as a problem. Cozy will even put it away in my room when people come over- It is her guilty pleasure All are spayed now. Cozy started to do it when she was pregnant with her first litter and have never stopped. Her daughters just learned it from her! Poor Buddy (Golden) leaves the room when he seeing them doing it. If they are using "Humper-Nutter" and he comes it to the room and high tails it out of there
