Puppy Countdown - One more day and Mother Nature is being a real B****! She's trying to keep me away from my baby. The ice and snow in East Tennessee has made the road to my breeder's house impassable. When we went to visit the puppies in December, she told me that if the weather got bad, not to even try coming out. The plan has been for me, my mom, and my 13yo daughter to drive to Knoxville this afternoon and spend the night. A girls' getaway in addition to getting our pups. DD has been soooo excited. Bless her, she doesn't get very much solo time with Mom and Nana since little sister came along. Postponing the trip for a day is not an option either, as DD has an important event on Sunday. The only other option is to make an 8 hour round trip tomorrow to pick them up. I spoke with the breeder last night, and she said to just plan on staying home. :(:(:( The forecast for today is supposed to be sunny and temps up around mid-40s. I'm supposed to call her around 2:00 for an update. UGGGHHHH!!! I hate having to wait! I'm the type that likes to have everything planned out, even if it doesn't go exactly that way. Anybody got any spare travel angels you can send our way? |

Oh, the anticipation builds! Hopefully you will be able to get your baby soon. Will be excited to see photos of your new baby. |
Sorry ! I know it is so hard to wait. But, I always think,things like this happen for a reason. You can still make this a special day with DD and you are both safe and toasty warm. |
Waiting is so very hard. I am sorry that Mother Nature ruined your girl's only time. Hope the snow melts so that you make the trip, maybe leaving a little later in the day. |
I know it's so hard to wait and then to have to wait a little longer is just cruel. Hang in there! The weather will warm up really soon! :) Can't wait to see pics when you get your puppy home!! |

No puppy yet! We're going to pick them up in the morning. Us girls are just hanging out at the hotel with a bottle of wine (the teen has hot cocoa!) |

Just reading your thread and feeling your excitement and frustration. Hoping this finds you on your way or already back with your baby dog! If not and weather still bad, I'm so sorry and hoping and praying it gets better ASAP. |

This has been the worst nightmare of a day! We're STILL not home! UGH! Two hours from home and the transmission went out on my car. No shops open until Monday. Waiting for my dad to come pick us up. So worried about Sam and Piper. Poor babies have had such a long day. Will post when we finally get home! |

Well, it's almost 11:30 p.m. and we are finally home. I'm so freaking exhausted! What. A. Day! Sam is tucked into his bed with his blanket and a stuffed toy. Poor baby is bushed. He ate some kibble and a scrambled egg, peed on the potty pad, and pooped in the kitchen floor. Hopefully I'll get some pics tomorrow. Right now, my eyeballs are rolling, I'm so tired! G'nite! |
