Any Newbies Thinking about Becoming Donating Members?
 

I highly recommend joining Yorkietalk and becoming a full member. The cost is only $25.00 and you will have much more album space and a bigger avatar. There are other advantages, such as being able to join the gift exchange and having a link in your signature. Yorkietalk needs a new server so that they can continue its present level of service, and this will cost about $3,000, so adding new members now is really important. Donating and supporting this wonderful, instructional and fun website is so appreciated by all of us members and can hopefully help keep it up and running smoothly for many years to come as we all learn better ways to raise, train and pamper our Yorkshire Terriers.

I am sort of a newbie. Been a member for about 2 months. Sent my donation in and will send more in from time to time. Am retired but do not want to lose Yorkie Talk. Love this place.

I'm not so much of a newbie, but I'm still fairly new (only been active here two months, but used to use an account that was three years old)! I will be donating soon as well!

Id love to donate, but i dont want the extras. We have learned a bunch from this site. we use it as a resource all the time. There is such a wealth of info here. it has saved us many of times.
We would like to donate towards the server, and will, if we are told how we can do so without the extras.
That being said.. ever watch dance moms? house wives, etc, etc? have to weed though that same stuff here. should be a "yorkie moms" tv show....that would get a new server for sure. There are about 20 people here who ruin it for everyone. you know who im talking about.

This website is invaluable to those of us who need advice...no doubt. just wish the moderators would start moderating the old bitties who have nothing else to do but spend their entire day critiquing every word out of every new users mouth.
Some of us have to go to work everyday, and do not have 24 hours a day to educate ourselves. We come here to seek advice, guidance, and information. Many of us are ignorant, new and uninformed. I would imagine we would need 10 times the server space were it not for the "regulars" who run most of us off. I also imagine that you would not need to ask, or hold raffles to earn money were it not for the these people.
Think about it. Do you have any idea how many people have yorkies in their lives that dont join? I know 5 here in my neighborhood that dont even know this site exists; and ive been embarrassed to tell them about it, for fear they might say the wrong thing here and get scorned. Those of us who dont know everything, just get attacked if we use the wrong nomenclature or simply do not understand.
Something needs to change around here.

You are welcome to donate and only participate in the parts of YT you prefer, that's your prerogative. Also, when you donate - you can always PM me, JMueDog, or Admin and ask us to disable anything that you don't want as a result of being a donating member. For example, you get a bigger avatar etc - it's fine if you don't want that.

I'm glad to hear you've noticed how many loving/caring people are here, and especially that you've learned here and gotten wonderful advice. Of course, I'm also sorry to hear your disappointment in some of the members. Please always remember that the GOOD far outweighs any bad here. I know that fact doesn't always make it easier, but it helps with keeping things in perspective; and it helps with avoiding giving all of your emotions over to what you see as negative.

We try our best, admin/mods and the members, to make YT a great place. Like in real life, there is a huge variety of human beings here and of communication styles. We all have to try to tolerate the differences in each other, even when they make us feel like banging our heads against a brick wall. Every single one of us here encounters other members who don't do things the way we'd prefer. So, none of us have a pass on that feeling.

Also, feel free to report any posts that you think are breaking the rules that YT has in place. Those rules do strive to maintain some boundaries in the treatment of all members. I hope you post more so we can get to know you better. Even though some of your words were a bit harsh and a little out of line (which I thought you didn't like to see, in others), I still respect and appreciate your very honest opinion :).

You are so funny! :) I really need an updated Avatar... Ive had mine for so long! My boys were less than 2 years old in those pics and now they are over 7 years old! haha

I'm not a noob anymore, but I am when it comes to donating. I'm glad I did because this has been a great site to visit and learn. Plus showing off my little boy with a bigger avatar is worth it! ;-)

That's funny, your avatar is one of my favorites, I love the way the frame looks, the way it lights up around the edges. It's one of the first ones I saved and tore apart to see how it was made, whoever made it was very clever, or had a cool program!

I hate to admit it, but that's one of the reasons I joined. :p I love the avatars!

I am not a newbie but I havent donated yet...I guess cuz I dont go on that much but I do love YT, they have always been there for me in any question no matter how embarrasing or odd. I have met some of the best people here, yes theirs always a few negative people but so it is in life. Overall I have met the nicest people who most of all care about thier dogs. So if I can spend $25 bucks to get a new outfit for my dog I guess I can shell it out to help out YT.....and I just got a new avatar that I really want bigger :D
