My son said he saw a big dog in Oklahoma jump right out of its window at a stoplight recently. Said the window didn't even look open enough for a dog half that size to get through! The owner had to jump out of his truck and take out after his dog and just leave the vehicle at that busy intersection. Danny said a whole lot of people started honking their horns and it created a dangerous mess as the poor dog panicked in all the traffic. |
A long while ago, I was at a McDonalds drive thru and Toki was sitting in my BF's lap in the passenger seat. She saw a squirrel run up a nearby tree and leapt out the window! I was so upset with my BF! Luckily she stopped by the tree with the squirrel and he was able to get her quickly but the whole incident really shook me up! Now I always have her strapped in and if I roll down the window, it's just enough for her to stick her nose through. It's more important that she be safe than have a blast sticking her head out the window. |
Have a booster seat for Amy to ride in. It is in the back seat. Ordered a snoozer seat for her cause the other one kept leaning downward and she was going forward. Now with the snoozer seat she will be higher and be able to look out the window. We would have the window down just enough so she could feel the air but couldn't jump out. She was tethered in it and it was attached to her harness. Will never have the window all the way down. |
Windows up, A/C on. All seatbelted in the rear seat, airbags can kill dogs. |
I have the strangest dog in the world. He doesn't like the window open too far. He seems like he is nervous about falling out! He is ok if I have it cracked a couple of inches, but he just doesn't get too close. He prefers facing into the vent of the a.c. He is a nervous car passenger, anyway, always watching the road and giving disapproving looks if you turn or stop too hard. |
