Hair color Banding of light and drk. Grey

The hair on Umas' shoulder under the top hair, has bands of lt. and drk. grey. The very ends ,inch or so, are the puppy black she was born with. The next inch or so is a drk. grey. The next inch or so is a ltr. grey. The next inch is the drk. again,and so on. Is this caused by the hormonal fluctuations? Perhaps she can't decide what shade to go there? LOL! Will she stay banded like that or go one way or the other? Her top is the very drk. grey, her underside is the lighter shade. Any ideas?

Not to worry, she'll be going through a multitude of changes until full growth of 2. What's even worse you may find that she'll lighten with each Season. Sad but that's what most females do......the banding most likely straighten out as her coat grows.

Oh! the correct term is not gray, she is bluing, that is unless she is soft coated (which I don't think she is), then it is a cleric gray.

The dark blue is only a shade or so lighter than the black so hopefully she won't get really light any time soon. Thanks for the info., I was a little worried she would end up looking like a raccoon!!! LOL!!
