| New to YorkieTalk Hello everyone! My name is Courtney and I am new to yorkie talk (and hope i'm posting in the right forum) I currently do not have my baby girl yet (if anyone knows of any reputable breeders please do let me know of them. I live in Illinois but would be willing to travel to surrounding states.) but I am planning to get her on or before Valentines Day. I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to everyone! This seems like a very loving Yorkie community and I can't wait to get my girl so that I can be apart of it! |

| Hi, Courtney, and welcome. I do not know about breeders in the Illinois area, but I hope you find exactly what you are looking for. If you do not have your heart set on a puppy from a breeder, you might check out rescue organizations. When I was looking for a companion for Brody, there were some cutie pies out there. Some were too far away for me, and some were gone before I could get in touch with the rescue, but oh my goodness...the darlingness of those furbabies some people were willing to toss by the wayside! In any case, please do post pix when you get your new furry best friend and baby child...

| Welcome to YT, Courtney! A starting place to find a reputable breeder in your area is to go to the YTCA website and check their list of breeders. Happy hunting and can't wait to see your little one when you get it

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Welcome to YT! Please make sure your new pup is at least 12wks old before you bring her home...puppies learn much from their momma during the 8-12 week period, such as bite inhibition and socialization. Do check out the YTCA website for a list of breeders in your area...buy your breeder first. I found all of this out after the fact. So glad you found us and are doing your research first. This is a wonderful website, chock full of information and knowledgable people. Any and all questions please don't be shy about asking. Again Welcome....look forward to news of your new arrival....oh and one requirment is pictures!

| Hello and welcome. One good way to find a reputable breeder is to find local AKC sanctioned dog clubs in your area. Do a search on the AKC website for conformation or breed club in your state or surrounding states. These clubs usually have a breeder referral contact person who should be able to point you in the right direction. American Kennel Club - Club Search and Directory Try to avoid the internet since most of those lovely ads are puppy mill scammers. A reputable breeder will have a website but they do not come up unless you do a specific search for them. Hope you find a lovely puppy. |

| Thank you all for the warm welcome and the advice! I am currently looking to purchase one of Brenda's dogs of greenstreasuredyorkies.com. From the reviews seen on YT I believe she is a pretty trustworthy and reputable breeder. |
