DH and his best friend ... My dh and his best friend are telling that if I get another fur kid that Mrs Beasley will grieve herself to death. Any truth to that? Please let me know your thoughts, opinions, and/or experience. Some times they are just messing with me because they know I worry about Mrs. Beasley. She will be 11 in February. |
Well Jan you already know my answer to this! Lol. I think she would adjust. And she HAS been around Sassy! I think you need to do what you think is best for you and Mrs B! |
I think that's a little...excessive, lol. It depends though. How is she when you pay attention to other dogs? I'm assuming you'd want another dog. Growing up, our older dogs always did just fine with younger ones. We never had puppies, but after a week and the novelty wore off, everyone was fine. :) |
Rhonda I agree with you. I think they gang up on me when I am getting close to trying to adopt. :( |

Did you find one you are wanting to adopt? |

I have always been a one pet at a time kinda person. But Yorkies are different, they capture your heart unlike any other. I want another one. Mrs. Beasley wants all of my attention. But she fusses and then settles down around dh's bloodhound. She s the same way around my son and daughter in law's yorkie. |
I think some dogs are simply meant to be only dogs and not necessarily because of aggression. Callie loves my moms dog Sammy but at the end of the day she is ready for him to go home and have everything to herself. I don't know if I can explain it well but I know she is happier an only dog. She is so very attached to me that I think it would hurt her for me to give attention all the time to another dog and love them as much as I do her. |

Just had a thought ... I wonder if this is so hard for me because I had an only child. I wanted more children, but was only able to have one. God blessed me with two step-children later in life. They were one grad ahead and one grade behind my daughter. |
