Aside from giving your pooch top quality dog food...how do I rid my boy of those tear stains? :confused:

Some say to also try distilled water as well as grain free food. I believe others have tried a product called Angel Eyes.

I just use a face scrub and clean up their little faces a lot. There is some controversy on Angel Eyes plus it is expensive in my opinion. Spa Blueberry face scrub and Kissy Face Scrub are both good.

I do this too. I use the Kissy Face every night when I get home from work. It's part of her grooming routine - she fought me at first but now she's getting used to it.

No, I didn't even know there WAS a brush. Okay, now I'm gonna have to go get the brush (like I need to spend more money lol)

It is only $3. Yay! Lol. It makes rubbing it in easier. It is very soft. :)

I have a blonde Morkie & her stains are pretty bad. I tried Gerber baby water, but that didn't do anything. I used to put a little apple cider vinegar in their water & that actually did help. I'm growing the hair around her eyes now & I'll probably try the ACV again once the hairs are grown out more & are not poking her. People swear by Angel Eyes. But she won't eat it.

Oooooh, I get so ENVIOUS when you all have stuff I can't try....:( :D

For Harry's face, I use a face cloth soaked in warm water, with a little 'Simple' liquid soap....as for his eyes, I use the 'fat' part of my fingertip, but always get the little boogers when they're soft....:D

I've taught Andy how to do it too - he was horrified at first, but he soon got into it....:rolleyes: :D Sally + Harry x

I read about the angel eyes but don't give her any wet food. If I get it, should I give her something wet like maybe organic baby food and put it on it once a day to see if that will help her eyes? I that doesn't work maybe I will try the Kissy Pet.

Gracie has been a grain free raw diet for over a year and has had very little tearing. I put her on distilled water because our water is so hard. Since I changed her water we have no tears at all.

Is Kissy Face a mild soap? I saw the website's product...why can't I just use a high quality dog shampoo mixed with water in a spray bottle..?

THANK YOU! I ordered it last night!!! Woohoo! I like the fact that the ingredients are gentle. I'm not expecting it to "fix" the tear stain problem. But I'm at least hoping it will keep their faces clean. My boy's beard ends up getting pretty gross by day's end. :embarasse Thanks for the tip!!!

It's gentle so it's easy around their eyes. And, it rinses REALLY easily. :)

Mine used to fight me too. She was not good with ANY kind of grooming whatsoever. But she got used to it. I gave her a "special" treat when I cleaned her facial area. A few weeks later, she'd just go "down", put her face on her paws & let me do it. Now she's a pro.

Maybe you can try using a warm water on a cotton ball? It's softer on their eye area & easier to handle than a bulky washcloth. I actually use those round cotton pads & cut them in 1/4ths. I get a little nervous when I do anything around their eyes & I feel like I have better "control" using a little piece of cotton.

That's great! I'm going to throw out another tip. Lol. It's a great bottom wash too! ;):rolleyes::p. Haha. When poo gets stuck on their bottoms I use the face wash instead of completely bathing them. It works great! :thumbup:
