loved the story it took my hubby about 10 minutes before he was head over heels in love with my swayzee baby, he cuddles with her more then i do. he always says we are gonna get a big dog but i think he only says that because he doesnt want to admit how mych he loves her!! cant wait till u get ur very own yorkie!! |
AW >.< That was the cutest story I have read these past few days =D I think you should definitely consider getting a Yorkshire terrier of your own. They are great little dogs. When my mom said I could get a small dog my dad was MAD. He thought a small dog would be an annoyingly big mistake!! It didn't take but a day for my dad to fall completely in love with Clyde. My dad loves Clyde so much!!! And now he really likes Dexter too. They do everything together. He takes Clyde out with him all the time ... and sneaks Clyde & Dexter all sorts of treats. And he talks about them all the time, too! It is the silliest thing. My dad thought he could never like little dogs, but like you found out that he is a Yorkie-Man! My dad even told my mom that after I move out and take my dogs with me that she has to buy him a Yorkshire terrier of his own. |
Love your story and I think you should get a yorkie - you can even rescue/adopt one. We now have two yorkies and hubby is hooked on both of them. They are like our children and the loves of our lives. Good luck to you and I can't wait to here your updates! |
My hubby always liked aggressive dogs such as Pitts and chows. He never wanted a little happy dog. But when we got zooey, he said hell never be seen in public with a little prissy dog. Now he walks outside, in malls and parks with little zooey in her dresses and bows, and jewelry on. He's so proud to have her by his side. He always makes sure she's dressed for the right occasion. Not to mention he spoils her to death! She's definitely a daddy's girl. Plus I have my teapot boy, and he's mamas boy! Equally spoiled!!!! |
As a fellow middle-aged man who also was bitten by Yorkie magic, I say welcome to the club! There really is something special about Yorkies to people who are open to it. I despised little dogs until my wife brought home our first Yorkie. I fell in love with him as quickly as you did. They're big dogs trapped in a little dog's body, just as smart, just as athletic and just as lovable as any other dog. I can honestly say that Yorkie, and two others that followed, changed my life. I hope things work out for you. |
I can't wait to hear the rest of the story....as your 'yorkie magic' adventure continues (Thanks for that term Mike).. |
I hope you got a yorkie for Christmas and that you are busy giving it all of your spare time...take five and give us an update :) |

Oh yes, my husband is hooked! Our little Libby just melts his heart! |
So glad to see other guys talking about their love for this breed that owns us. Ladies, please remember that there are a few of us guys that post here. I've been owned by 2 Yorkies, Megan, for 15 years, the other, Gina, for 3 1/2 months now. I am very happy and grateful that my wife introduced me to Yorkies, I'm a Yorkie guy for life. Cheers Quad:aimeeyork |
My husband was so funny. We have three cats and after 13 yrs of marriage and finally buying our dream home right at the beach, I informed him that my dr wanted me to get a service dog for physical therapy from my spinal cord injury. Well my husband was adamant that we would not have a dog, as we had three cats and it just wasn't happening. Well a couple weeks later, I found that Gizmo needed rescuing and I was the one to do it lol. My husband is a firefighter and was working nights at the time, so I tried to just hurry and sneak out while he was sleeping to go rescue Gizmo. My plan went all wrong as he woke up, hearing me get ready to leave he woke up HAHAHAHA . He was like, ummm where are you going? I just told him good your awake you can drive, but I didn't tell him where. He figured it out when we got there and seen how sick little Gizmo was. He drove as fast as possible once we had the pup and he's knew what I was up to. He fell in love right there in the vets office while we worked to save him. What is really funny is after I read him that thread about yorkies being chick agents, I've noticed on all his days off work, I find my husband and my puppy missing hehehehe. I now joke with him when he gets back from the park right at the beach about stealing my chick magnet all the time lol. It's just so funny :-) |
Sadams ,,,, well did u get ur yorkie,, put us all out of our misery lol:D |
My hubby is sold on yorkies, too. He's not a dog person. I call them the Cadillac dog. Haha. Small, no shedding, and adorable. Tell your GF it's a yorkie!!!! |
Yup, same thing here. Never wanted a little dog, wanted a "real" dog. My GF convinced me to babysit a friend's Yorkie. By the end of the day I knew this was the breed for me ! I adopted Charlie 2 months later. What awesome dogs they are ! Now I'm wanting another one LOL |
