| ♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | So the vet sent him home and told you to force feed him? And gave you no answers on what could be wrong. Can you try a different vet?

| I am no expert but I did help my sis-in-law with her puppy who did the same this was what pulled her through. I ground her kibble in a coffee grinder, added all meat chicken baby food, and water to make it go through a syringe. I fed her ever 3 hours and the same with water. I also gave her nutrical every 2 hours. It took a week of doing this then another week of her eating the mixture from a bowl before we gradually got her to start on some kibble. She is now a healthy 6lb girl. Good luck with your little one. Sending up prayers for her.

| How old is he? Did your vet not tell you how to care for him? Did the vet show you how to force feed him?

| You arent far from me. What are you trying to feed him? How old? Whos the breeder? Are you giving water and vitamins to try and keep him going? Has he eaten/swallowed anything?

| I had the same problem with my female yorkie. This is what I did I fed her a tablespoon of the clear Karo Syrup. This to keep her sugar up. Then I boiled some chicken don't add any spices at all. I also boiled some white rice after it was all done I shredded the chicken and mixed it with the rice and fed her that. I had to do this for three days. She finally started eating dog food. Anytime she looked slow and no energy I gave her a spoon of clear Karo. Hope this helps. Also keep the puppy with you as much a possible. |

| Boiled chicken & white rice or white pasta, I can never get a dog to eat rice but they go crazy for the pasta. Also beef or chickern human baby food & make sure there is NO garlic or onion powder in it, and you need NutriCal NOT karo syrup as the Nutrical is full of vitamins & karo only contains sugar. |

| I don't understand. People are trying to help you and yet you have not answered any questions for them. Why did your vet send the pup home if he is still not eating on his own? What did the vet give you to feed him? Are you feeding him with a syringe? How old is he? I really don't think anyone on a forum can help you as much as the vet can if you are really afraid that he is going to die. There are meds that the puppy needs to treat the parasite you mentioned. Are you able to give him his medication? If that is really the problem his appetite will not come back until the puppy is fully treated and recovered from the parasite. That means several days of force feeding every couple of hours and giving the medication as directed. Are you able to do that? |

| Yes I am able to do that! I am force feeding him AD the meds I am giving him is metronidazole once a day dextrose when needed and marquis paste. It is his last day for the past, I have no idea why the vet would want me to take him home. |

| ♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | No I don't think anyone thinks that. We all are just very worried about your pup. And trying to understand. You have to be very scared. Sounds like you are doing what you were told by vet. Just hard to understand why the vet would send him home. I think you have gotten some good comments on what to try to help It is sad that the breeder won't step up and help also . Please keep us updated. This little one is having an awful tough start to life.
