I have macs, and there's a free program called Colloquy that I use from my iMac and iPhone and iPad. Once you set the server setting, it's easy.

Why thank you... Lucky me I am sitting in the couch next to tech nut hubby so I am handing the iPad to him right this sec and to get me all fixed up
