Is there any way that they can withhold her paperwork and allow you to spay her later?. There are risks of urinary incontinence and so many other health risks for spaying one so young. I don't want to do anything to lessen your excitement, and I'm sorry, but I just want you to be really happy and to have a healthy little girl. This response is to Alisha about her little girl Stella.

Oh no not my puppy, the mom. This is her third litter and they no longer want to breed because they said they get too attached to the puppies, they have framed pictures of every puppy from the first 2 litters around their home.

The internet is full of puppy mill and broker sites that sell puppies at a young age. But their hitch is to try to make buyers think they are getting a tiny by letting them go early. It's pathetic what they will do for money. I hope even they would not let a puppy go at a couple of weeks though. What do these people think they are buying? A wild animal that they need to tame? It seems many people do not appreciate being told they may be wrong about these things.

You had to know that before you put the deposit down and why you would put the deposit down being a member of YT and knowing its not good is beyond something I can understand.

That's so very sad they are the reason people are still getting away with selling pups under 12 weeks. I hope you where able to get through to him.

After doing a lot of reading why it is best for them to stay till 12 weeks and knowing this puppy will be with Guinness along with another yorkie friend and adults 24 hours a day I decided that although I was not happy with it but I was willing to ahead.

Why would you want to support someone who doesn't do what best for the breed?

Yes they are releasing a puppy at 8 weeks, but they also quizzed me with 100 questions made me bring pictures of my yard and Guinness and his vet records along with sign papers that I must keep in contact giving updates and pictures and if something should happen that I can not keep her or do not take care of her she goes back to them... Yes they have a flaw but they also have a lot of good. Now if I did not know this breed and have another one to help teach her then heck no I would not get her BUT I do know warning signs and Guinness can help guide her... So with that being said I know 100% that I am good Yorkie mom and I made the decision to go ahead. Everybody is entitled to their thoughts and opinions of my choice but as I said it was my choice and I am pretty sure if we wanted to start playing the who is guilty of what game that everybody has something hidden in their closet that was not the "best" or "right" thing to do in some situation.

I just truly think if the breeder 100% cared for the pup they would keep them until 12 weeks. What about the pups who go to new yorkie owners with no other dogs?

Well not well hidden but yes guilty lol with Laddy. Wishing you all the best with your little one. And Breny Thank you to you and other breeders for helping us all to understand better whats best for these babies.

Remember, "12 weeks" is YTCA's recommendation, NOT the law. Also, not the age most puppies around the world are sold.

I'm so sick of reading the posts beating up on people that buy their weaned puppies at a younger age.

Until I joined YT I had NEVER heard of the "12 week rule." Though I completely understand the reasoning behind it, I think that because 8 weeks is the "norm" for most pups there is no reason to bully someone about getting their pup at 8 weeks. Now, if the breeders were selling the pups younger than that, then by all means, educate LOUDLY. But 8 weeks? Move on...

I had never heard of the 12wk rule either until YT...I got Sebi @ 8 weeks and the breeders seemed to love all there animals very much so I doubt they thought what they were doing was harmful in ANY sort of way. I'm not really understanding the whole idea of 4 more weeks making a huge diff?

I understand it because it took me FOREVER to teach Guinness the difference between play biting and biting for blood.
