Congratulations on your new baby! I wouldn't be concerned at him getting sick in the car ride. Some babies just don't ride well and plus, he was upset from leaving his mom. Do you have nutrical for him? I'd give him a little daily just to make sure he doesn't get hypoglycemic. Also, when are you taking him to the vet? Ask the vet about the coughing thing when he drinks. Has he done it any more? Can't wait to see pics of this little guy! |
he hasnt done the coughing thing since i posted the first time, and hes drank since then, but i am still going to tell the vet about it. his appt is tomorrow morning :] i went to petsmart today to get the nutrical but they didnt have it, so i will ask my vet tomorrow for anywhere else i can get it. he seems very upbeat though- he wasnt lethargic or shaky [other thatn when we first got him] and he ate well, so im not too worried today about the hypo, just the coughing thingy is kinda irksome. i really hope his car sickness goes away- that was so scary. i thought he was like dying! but my dad calmed me down lol. thanks so much for your concern, you all are SIRIUSLY the best! :p i am off to stare at him now lol. <3<3<3 |
Jackie, you are too cute "going to stare at him" I LOVE it! Hav ea wonderful first night and let us know what the vet says tomorrow! Have a great weekend with the new love of your life! |
I am very happy for you  |
 What a flashback!! :) I remember every second of bringing Toto home!! I don't think I was that excited when I brought my human son home!! At least all Sirius did was throw up .... Toto peed on my lap! That was the sweetest little spot I had ever seen!! And, the really bad news, you never, ever get over it! We still just sit and stare at Toto sometimes!! It's amazing that the "shock & awe" never wears off!! :p Really looking forward to hearing all about your adventures with Sirius!! ;) |
if you don't want your pup sleeping with you (and there are a lot of good reasons for that), please dont make the same mistake I made....Edie was perfectly happy sleeping in her crate as long as it was in our bedroom. THen, my husband went out of town on business and I invited her up to the big bed for a "sleepover". SHE WOULD NOT GO BACK to the crate after that, and believe me, I tried. It is a lot easier to have a pup who sleeps in the crate if you are going to have her visit relatives now and then (if you are traveling, for instance). Just my 2 cents worth. I know you will enjoy the new puppy. Make sure you tell the vet about the cough. I think it could be significant that it happens after drinking water, so I would make sure to mention that. |
oh---Edie threw up on the way home too. It's probably just nerves. |
Congratulations!! Im on the same high right now. Its brilliant!! He's getting treated like a new born baby! I brought Tino home last night (UK time). He ended up in our room in his crate. He woke us up 3 times crying but all he wanted was a cuddle so I wrapped him in his blanket and rocked him a bit and off he went. I popped him back in his crate and that was that. One of the times he woke up, he had the hiccups and I dont think he knew what they were so I put him in his blanket and patted him lightly, then he was fine!! Im so proud of him and no accidents either.....yet. :D |

Congrads!!!!! Ain't love grand? :D Bet he will outgrow the throwing up - my Raven did it when he was little, but now he is a great traveler!!! |
Congrats on your new baby!!! It is soo exciting. Can't wait until we see more pictures! Good luck with crate training him.... I gave in with Homer and now he sleeps in the middle of my bed every night. Have fun!!! |
god, i suck @ being firm...he wimpered and wimpered and eventually wimpered his wat into my bed  i REALLLLLLY tried- lol i swear i did. but those cries!! id leave him there and hed just look @ me to sad like how can u do this to me? so i left him in for about 30 mins att a time, and let him up on the bed every 2 hours. lol i know, i know...but he was so great. he was the best teddy bear ever. :] as for the vet appt, she said he looked great- but his tummy was distended so she thinks he has worms, so i have some meds i have to give him. she said he just had a dewormer so it may be from that? but she wants to make sure? now i forget what she said, so i have to check my notes. lol- yes i took notes. im a NERD. but other than that, she said he was great. everyone wanted to hold him...i got WAY too much attention. i took him to see his daddy today and he is such a geek [like me] he loves him<3 ahh im so glad YT exists, or i think i may burst with all this excitement and no one to share it, or UNDERSTAND it, rather. :] |
That is sooo awesome that you got to bring him home!!! Can't wait to see lots of pics of him! :luvu: |
