| Ticks everywhere help!!! Please So we started having this tick problem back in June when Sebi stayed at my boyfriend's parents for a week while we were out of town..I know this because he had never been outside prior to this. I had been house training him and the only place I'd let him go was out on our fenced porch. So anyways his dad started taking Sebi for walks and having him go potty outside..which is fine BUT it just so happens that their yard is infested with ticks! I didn't find a tick on him till a few days after we'd been back home and I freaked so we starting searching his whole little body...Which was extremely furry at the time so that made it difficult but, we pulled off at least 20 ticks! I started reading online about them and how they can carry lyme disease so I took him to the vet asap..the vet gave me some frontline and said he should be fine and the ticks here in Florida don't usually carry the lyme. We sprayed our entire house down..washed blankets..everything. I thought they were all gone but, these past few days I've been finding them. PLEASE tell me how I can get rid of these disgusting things!!! I can't even sleep good at night because I'm so paranoid ones gonna get in my ear or something! I've found them crawling up my walls, on my bathroom rug, and on Sebi! I will just lose it if I find one on my daughter! |

| yuck is right. and i find frontline sux....sorry i had to switch from frontline plus to revolution as it wasnt working for me and my cat was getting ticks and fleas from killing varmits outside. ever since using the revolution every month i have had no issues. i honestly dont think the frontline is strong enough. i hope you find a solution. i found this repeling information online incase it may help!! Cooking Oil Cooking oil contains sulfur, which in itself is a natural tick repellent. In a spray bottle, mix a solution of 2 tsp. vegetable oil or almond oil, 20 drops of Rose Geranium essential oil (available at any health store) and 1 cup water. Spray this solution onto clothing, pets and lawn to keep ticks at bay. Keep away from eyes, nose and mouth, which are sensitive areas on both humans and pets. Repeat as necessary to keep ticks repelled from your home and family. Vinegar Vinegar has a smell and taste that ticks cannot stand, making it the perfect tick repellent. In a spray bottle, mix a solution of 2 cups water and 1 cup white vinegar or apple cider vinegar (either will work). Add in a few drops of your favorite essential oil for scent, then spray onto pets, clothing, skin, and even on the lawn. This will safely repel ticks without harming your family or home. Citrus Citrus scents also ward off ticks, and a citrus repellent can be easily made for just a few dollars. Bring 3 cups of water to a boil, then add a few sliced citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruits--any combination will do). Let boil for one minute, then simmer on low heat for an hour. Take out the sliced fruits, and pour the remaining mixture through a strainer. Pour into a spray bottle, and spray directly onto clothing, pets and lawn. The acidic scent of citrus fruits work to repel both ticks and fleas, keeping your family free of these blood-sucking insects. Peppermint Peppermint also repels ticks and fleas, and a spray-on repellent can be made for just a few dollars. In a spray bottle, add 2 cups water and 20 drops of peppermint essential oil. Spray onto clothing, pets and around the lawn to keep ticks and fleas at bay. Alternately, crush a few peppermints and sprinkle throughout the lawn, or brew a pot of peppermint tea, strain into a spray bottle and use this as a spray-on repellent as well.

oh you poor thing.. those nasty things make my skin crawl. . well the first thing you should probably do is have your whole house fumigated as soon as possible. i think that should take care of the ticks in your house... also i find that k9 advantix II works better for ticks.. although if you recently used the frontline on your dog i would wait at least 3 weeks before applying anything else....

| I hate ticks. You need to spray your yard more then your house. If he had 20 attached ticks I would want blood work done to make sure everything is ok. Where I live Advantix seems to be the best one to keep ticks away.

| ps, if you have already sprayed inside your home and you are still finding ticks in the home you should consult a professional pest exterminating service.. they will know the proper product to use which is safe to use inside the home.. good luck.. |

| I hate to ask, but are you sure they're not bed bugs? Ticks and bed bugs can look alike to some people, and I have never heard of that many ticks crawling around inside a house.

bloodwork... I asked the vet about this and he said it was unnecessary and went on to explain how lyme disease is unlikely and just to keep an eye on the bites. Since they have not gone away and continue to get on him I think I will have to go ahead and take him back to the vet and ask for bloodwork.

| I have only found a few..one crawling up the wall, one on the bathroom rug, and one on Sebi's neck and in his ear. Maybe I made it sound like more but, even one is too many for me! Back in June is when we found the 20 some on Sebi's body and we removed those and had him treated..also gave him a super short cut. I thought they were long gone but, their starting to pop up here and there again. I'm almost positive these are ticks they look just like the pics I have searched online. I thought bed bugs were microscopic? |
