Question about a Saskatchewan breeder Hello everyone, Has anyone purchased from Connie's tiny yorkshires? I posted this in the review forum before realizing that forum is for reviews only and this is not a review just a question. I can't seem to find anyone that has ever purchased a puppy from her. |
They use the word teacups and that is a big no no so I stopped after reading that. I would run not walk away from this breeder. Home - Yorkies! |
First thing was she spelled "tinies" wrong. I found a few typos. I don't mind typos every once in a while, but for your website? Proofread! She gives full breeding rights if you want to pay her another $1000 on top of her $1000+ dogs. She has stud service of dogs who don't belong to her, but have them at her place "on the weekends". And don't worry, she ships "anywhere". Personally, I would pass. |
Wow she has really FRISKY Stud's. I have never seen that on a Web Site before. |
LOL "Frisky" studs? that's pretty fantastic I don't believe I have ever seen that one. I agree with Lovetodream RUN dont walk away! |
I totally know what you guys mean! These things worry me too. The teacup part the most after reading all about it here on YT. BUT I should definitely mention that these people are 65 years old and have been doing this for a long time. There is no doubt its for profit purposes but I believe her dogs to be of good quality. I've already purchased a pup from her. The one in my avatar. On her site under the new puppies section she actually shows Grim as a baby and has my name by him! She also has a video that shows her dogs live inside and are taken care of! I'd really like to talk to someone who has went with her before though. Just to hear their experiences and see their dogs. I can't find a soul who has went with her so maybe that's a good sign. She sells a lot of puppies so you would think there would be at least one person here on YT! Like I said I don't want the breeder to read this and feel offended because she has been nothing but sweet to me but I just wanted to meet someone else and get their experiences :) |
I was also talking with Betty Durrer recently. She has no pups available right now but referred me to someone who she knew and recommended if it didn't work out with Grim (altho at this point I'm fairly certain I'd stick with Grim). If I ever got another pup I would do everything in my power to go with Betty's dogs. She seems very professional and you would only get top of the line with her! Was almost like talking to a celebrity LoL. Yes I get star struck very easily! |
Any breeder who breeds a dog under 5 pounds is risking the dogs life and no one who loves there dogs would do that. And good breeders care and love the dogs they are breeding. If that is what you want to support its your money. I am very sad you would support that. |
I will never understand why people ask for info or just know whats right and wrong and still go with wrong........... so sad people support whats not best for the breed and for animals in general. |

This is where I will politely say that I disagree with you and the attitude in which you pass your judgement, and I'd also like to point out that I never asked for anyone's opinion on the breeder. I asked if someone had received a puppy from her because I wanted to meet them. I still welcomed everyone's advice because I know that people are trying to help. These puppies were NOT raised in a puppy mill, were NOT sold in a puppy store, ARE treated well, and she does very much care for her dogs. Just because I don't go with the one route you think is suitable, doesn't make me evil to animals or dogs. As I said in my previous post, if I did happen to have the chance to get another dog, I would try and get a Durrer. |
And besides, I LOVE smaller yorkies with the black coats.. and I know I'm not the only one! |

Lovetodream, I feel you are being a bit of a drama queen no offense. You went to my other post on this topic and had to voice your opinion there as well? I don't know if this is so much about voicing an opinion or bullying at this point. How do you know her girls are under 5 lbs? Please stop being so forceful with your opinion when it really wasn't asked for in the beginning. |

Oh sorry, I must have gotten frazzled. Well thank you for your opinion. You are doing a great service to all! |

From looking at her dams they cannot possibly weigh more than 3lbs. As for the dark coats I happen to own one and love her color but it is not the standard. Usually when people ask on here if we have heard of a breeder it is to get advise so sorry if you didn't mean it that way. I have a little girl who weighs 2.8lbs and she looks bigger than some of this ladies breeders and I would never think of risking her life in that way JMHO. God bless. |

When we first got Uni, we had the intentions of breeding her (not a secret by now). The day after we got her, we went to a family that had yorkie puppies for sale. They were about 15 weeks old and they were pretty big already (running up and down the stairs no problem). They said they bred the dogs not for the money but bc they loved the breed. They lived in the house and were well taken care of. However, they were asking $1500 each pup. the mom was totally golden (off standard) and we couldn't meet the dad bc he bites (aggression passed on). We ended up not taking any of those, but these are the type of people who say they love the breed (and I'm sure they do) but are not doing the breed any good. People who breed for off colors, dark coats, short noses, short legs. these traits are not what is the yorkie standard, and people that look for those traits are perpetuating more bybs to produce this type of dog. |

I'm pretty sure I've made it clear that what you guys are talking about is not at all what I'm asking in this forum. I am not looking for people's opinions on someone else. I've read many people complain of this kind of behavior on YT and now I have experienced it myself :( what a shame I won't be back nearly as often. |

by the way as you asked how anyone knew how much the female dog's weighed and if you look the breeder has it posted directly under several of the females pictures... one weighing only 2 1/2 pounds... I am sorry we all hurt your feelings but there are just a lot of people here who care about yorkies an incredible amount and want to keep people from putting them in danger. you have to understand it is all due to many many people with incredibly big hearts..... enjoy your new puppy |

I don't for one second believe that you are sorry for hurting my feelings. If you were truly sorry you would stop commenting on something I've said I don't want commented on. This forum was a forum trying to meet another person who bought from this lady. Not to talk bad about her or how she chooses to breed her dogs. I've had people inbox me after reading this forum apolOgizing for my experiences so far. They feel bad and agree that since I had not asked the opinion of anyone that opinion should not be forced on me. People have also said they didn't want to say anything in fear of being treated like I am. Anyone with a shred of intelligence can understand that you cannot force your opinion on others. Even if you personally breed a tiny dog and it died because of it it still doesn't give you the right to repeatedly tell me that what I chose to do is wrong. If this ladies dogs were dying she wouldn't be doing what she is doing. They are all ok so I feel that my decision is my decision and I shouldn't be deterred from what I want to do! If you are so concerned about the safety of yorkies start up your own forum and discuss the matter. To come on to other peoples forums and tell them over and over again how wrong and cruel they are. You all make people feel like they can't voice their opinions or ask questions without getting their head ripped off. Not only are you repeatedly saying that the breeder is bad for what she is doing but you are insinuating that I am also bad. That shouldn't be happening in any forum where someone who is seeking another who purchased from her breeder. I think you have the "blinders" on and are blinded by your own "passion for the breed" that you forget basic manners and that opinions cannot be pushed onto others. |

Ok I won't say anymore about the breeder because you have said you don't care about our opinions on her. As far as us starting our own forum where we can post about caring about the saftey of yorkies we don't have to we have found one right here on YT. If you take the time to read you will see this for yourself. I have always been one to defend new posters and like I said do not ever intentionally try to hurt anyone. But this forum really does care about the safety and well being of these little ones first and foremost. God bless. |
I don't understand why people PM people such as the OP and say how sorry they are for "our" behaviour. If they don't like YT why are they still on here? |
