ok..going to try the tshirt thing as everyone suggests...like I said, I think it's just an aversion to wearing anything but I am def going to really check out the fit of the coat, since I paid 100.00 for it...but it seems to fit ok. I have so much to learn about these little terriers it seems. |

LoL I had a pair of PJs for waffles with Velcro on the back I'd put them on she'd fall over. Every time. I need to get rid of them now that I think about it. |
Lol this thread makes me laugh..imagining the Yorkies doing what they do is funny. Good thing Pao loves clothes. He knows he is cute in clothes and keeps him warm. He actually loves the clothes more than being cold so that is good :aimeeyork. Start young and it will be easier I think. I got Pao end of September so it was getting cold so we started when he was a puppy. |
2 Attachment(s) Brody and Mia love clothes, so no issues there. I got them 3 months apart when Brody was 14 months old and later when both Brody and Mia were 17 months old. Mia's previous owner said she didn't really like clothe, even though the owner would dress her anyway as a puppy. Brody never wore clothes until 12/23/11 and loved them from the first moment. You might try putting the coat on him when it doesn't matter how he reacts...make sure it is not so warm indoors that he will get too hot, but put the coat on while you sit and watch TV, read, etc., or at his nap or bedtime to give him time to adjust to the feel of it and so he can 'break it in' a bit. You can continue to walk him in the other coat with a soft T or sweater under it for warmth. Brody and Mia have warm fleece hoodies that they even love to sleep in...which is another option. In the attached photo, they are very dirty kiddos, having been playing in the dirt, grass and leaves, digging holes and knocking each other down in all that dirt, but you can see the (dirty) hoodies. :p |
Zach and Zoe were okay with clothing but we had a problem with Oliver and Basil our two shih tzus. They wouldn't move when we dressed them. Now they are much better. Now we have Bisquit who is only 10 weeks old and he screams when we dress him. So I guess it's back to the drawing board. |
this thread is so funny, Nancy hopefully you did not play that music while trying to teach Joey to walk in his costume, LOL because that would surely spook the crap out of me:D Lola could care less about clothes, if a toy is present she will play naked or in a formal gown. |

ROFLMAO...Brody, too! He is a toy hoarder and will play naked for sure....not sure about the formal gown...he has rejected Mia's clothes (sweaters) in the past. ;):p:D |

Cute Tshirt!!! |
LOL, I know how you feel. I bought this awesomely stylish leopard coat for our girl, Pfeiffer, and she too got The Coat Paralysis Syndrome. She eventually got the hang of it, and treats always help! |

:thumbup: Some of mine will just stand there and look at me with that look we all know....if I ignore them for a while, they eventually will walk around....then they get used to it (sweaters and pj's)and dont want it off! |
Modelling the coat 1 Attachment(s) Here's a pic of Wallee in the new coat. I checked and checked it over, no tags, fits well (I can fit my fingers under it) and it is very soft. But..check the look on his face.....hehehe....brutal... |
