isn't giving you a story. You can let them know you trust them but people
you know have had problems and if they are "for real" they will give it to you
so you can check it with the akc. Maybe this is just me but I still think a
show breeder is the best place to buy a pet quality puppy.

P. S. We have some excellent breeders right here on YT that are not show breeders
that can give you what you are looking for I'm sure. Just pm me and I'll give anyone
looking , the names of a few excellent people that people here have dealt with and
have been very satisfied. But then again these people know their pedigrees backwards
and forwards.

They just have some imperfections and i would never replace them. thats why i didnt call her breeder and b@#$*. i knew i wouldnt get my money back and i wasnt going to give her back. so im cutting my losses and educating myself. But thank you for your recomendations. im sure i will take those names some time in the future. thank you :)

Oh and maybe this would be good for people that are new to the breed and thinking of purchasing. If the breeder cant supply the pedigree for you before purchasing then maybe you should think agian before purchasing from that breeder . AKC can only give you the litters parents info. see uneducated purchasers of all breeds think that if theres champions in the grandparents then thats great because the breeder just decided not to show so thats why the litters parents didnt show champions. it can very easily be believed. i would belive it. this isnt what my yorkies breeder said cause i didnt talk to her about this issue but this can be what alot of people are think before they are buying. :)

You cannot believe how common it is for, well I don't know a politically correct adjective, breeders to use the term Champion lines and the actual champions would be 25 + year old if alive. that phrase is so common and it means diddly-squat much of the time..
A 5 gen. pedigree includes dogs registered many years ago..

Akc told me that you cant get more then a 5 generation.i feel its like a word of mouth thing passed on and on. I do believe you when you say it happens all the time. I still see people advertise that way all the time. See now i know better. So when a friend or i decideds to purchase any pure bred dog we ,or i m now informed enough to say show me proof. im not so gullible any more. lol

Isn't true they can also print off bogus pedigree's because once they have the software they could put anything in and just not register it with AKC?

Doesnt the pedigree have a stamp on it to show its an original. I dont know if i misuderstood.

Don't beat yourself up for what you didn't do because you did so much right.
Lordy, when my kids were small and we bought our first dog, I bought from
a pet shop. You went to the breeders home and checked out the conditions
noticed their were Champions in the line. Asked about health etc. How
many do that until they have made a mistake or two. Only thing when it
comes to yorkies it's expensive to make a mistake. We trust and it gets us
in trouble. Sales is a dog eat dog business ( no pun intended) BUT YOU
WOULD THINK WHEN DEALING WITH A LIVING BREATHING ANIMAL it would
be different....it's not!!! Your next purchase will be the best that anyone
can make. My best advise is to look and visit as many breeders as
your car can get you to. When you do purchase again you won't love them anymore than the two
you have now but if you breed you will know you are doing your best.

Could be but how many people would know this? I posted the question to hear back from the breeders their thoughts. I only know we got a few in through rescue and tried to trace where some of these young dogs were coming from and it was bogus what paperwork the owners had. It did not matter to rescue as all the dogs were spayed or neutered but we wanted to know who was doing the breeding (backyard in most cases).

When it comes to purchasing puppies most people will believe anything told to them and will not do any research or contact AKC. They believe the beautiful websites and they believe what some of these bad breeders tell them. Anyone can say anything and if you don't do your research, go to the place where the puppies are or checkout many resources then who knows what is really going on. You know what they say "A sucker is born every minute". And this statement is really true in the puppy buying business.

I'm sorry I meant to say the TN # is on the registration certificate of the sire or dam
of the pup that claims to be a Ch. (of course they will have
the pedigree) The Pedigree itself can be run off on the computer and many breeders
do that. The certificate has a stamp but could easily be copied but I don't think they
are going that far yet. This is what is on the AKC Kennel Club Certificate.

Name: Ch. whatever
Breed
Color
Sire name
Dam name each with their own TN #
Breeder
Owner
TN #
sex
date of birth

Im sure it can be duplicated. If people can make counterfit money then im sure pdigrees can be done also. my pedigrees have a golden seal that is raised form the paper. all TN#s are listed but what can you do with that info. is there some where you can go and type in the Tn # to find out more about the dogs so you can see if it was a false pedigree or to see if there is any other problems down the lines. i wondered why these pedigrees that i have show so many of the males being DNAed

Yes, thats why I feel you can't be in such a hurry that you can't check it out with AKC.
Tell them You Love The Dog and you hope they aren't insulted but you were burned
once and you couldn't sleep at night if you didn't or your husband wants you to do
it or something.....you don't have to come across as a B#### but just someone
who trusted once and doesn't want it to happen again.

You give the tn# to the Akc (on line if you want) or call. They will either give you all
info I imagine or you can ask if the dog you are speaking about (need full name) is a
champion and ask date of birth and who the current owner is. I know once you find
a good breeder you will know how far to go with this. You have to be strong because
you may see the most beautiful pup you have ever seen and yet there are red flags
all over so why bother checking, it's bad news. It's the one that you are not quite
sure.
