| Yorkie Breeder Help! New to YT :) Hi, I'm Ashley and I am new to YorkieTalk. I don't have a Yorkie yet but am planning to get one in the near-future. I LOVE yorkies and have had a yorkie before from a pet store. I don't know any good breeders and am not interested in paying thousands for a AKC champion bloodline yorkie. All I want is a nice pet that will live happy and healthy with me for a long time. If you could please help me with some good breeders or places in NJ or NY, that would be great! |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Hello and welcome to YT. The best places to go is to a rescue. You can save a pup Or you can go to the YTCA website. You can get a pup for a decent price. Also you pay a little more for a puppy up front but you will be saving thousands in vet bills later on.

| Please don't buy from a pet store again all pups in pet stores come from puppy mills and buying a puppy from them supports them and keeps them in business and abusing the mother and father dogs. To make sure you get a healthy pup from a good breeder some things you want to look for is AKC (it is the only legitimate registry in the US, the breeder will not let the pups go home before 12 weeks, the breeder does not use word like teacup and micro, you get a health guarantee, that the breeder does health testing and genetic testing on her breeders, that her breeding females are not under 5 pounds, that the breeder does not breed many different breeds, that the breeder doesn't breed mixes, that the breeder doesn't keep her dogs in out buildings, that you can see where the pups and parents are living, and that you can see the parents. I hope you find a good breeder and the right pup for you.
