Prayers Please :( My son called tonight and his westie is very sick. He was fine until after his bath now all of a sudden cannot use his back legs and won't eat :(. Vet thinks maybe he pinched a nerve. I pray thats all it is and will get better. |

That is frightening. Did they do X-rays? I hope they have the ability to do the tests needed to find what is actually causing the problem. |

Sounds scary but hopefully his vet will get to the bottom of it after tests. Hope with some rest, anti-inflammatories and pain Rx., he will feel better and can be normal again. It takes a lot to keep a Westie down for long. |

Thank you all for continuing to pray. Macky seems a tiny bit better today. Son finally got him to take a little soft food this morning. Still not walking on his back legs but he said he seemed a tad better. The tests are not all back yet from what I gather. It is so heartbreaking watching these little family members suffer :(. Don't know what I would do without you all. |

Updating: Macky ate about 3/4 of a can of softened dog food tonight :). Son is still having to syringe his water but he said he seems to be improving more all the time. Still unable to walk but son thinks this could partially be to him going without food so long that he is weak. Please continue to pray for Macky. We have a 3 year old grandaughter who has grown up with him and it is breaking her little heart watching her "Buddy" be so sick. Thanks everyone. |
I am writing this to let you all know that it is a very sad day for us all here. Little Macky was doing so well and looked like he had completely recovered. This morning when they woke up they found the little guy had passed on to the rainbow bridge :(. We are all so heartbroken here. The vet had thought maybe he had a pinched nerve for a while but obviously there was more to it. We are all very confused now because he seemed to be back to his old self lately and was eating, drinking, pottying, and playing as normal. :(. Thanks everyone that was praying for this precious little boy. |

Thank you all for continued prayers. According to the vet it was neurological but my poor son is blaming himself. He had been keeping macky crated to keep him calm and he feels like macky grieved himself to death :(. I feel bad for him he was only following drs orders, It is so hard to know how to comfort him and my little grandaughter :(. |

Oh I am so sorry to hear this. I only just saw your thread...what an ordeal. Surely there was more of an issue and perhaps the timing was just horribly bad. I hope your son can realize he most likely was not at fault...guilt even when unjustified completely and horribly amplifies the loss. It is so sad to lose one...and so difficult to get over the grief. My sincerest condolences, and heartfelt hugs to your entire family...RIP sweet Macky! |
oh ... I am so very sorry. I was reading and it sounded a lot like what happened to my Bailey last summer....I was going to give advice. Again, so sorry for your family\'s loss |
