Cesar Millan update I know some of us bashed Cesar for the "Holly video" but I just read that he attempted suicide after losing Daddy and his wife filing for divorce. I'm always sad when anyone finds themselves so hopeless that they try to take their life. On Nat Geo on the 25th there will be a Cesar Millan story and I will watch it. He tells how he recovered from this and did not rely on antidepressants to improve his life. We may not agree on his method of rehabilitating dogs for he is doing what he believes is right. I wish him the best. |
Oh, that is so sad to hear. Hopefully he got some help and is looking at the world a little differently now. Even when you disagree with a person's methods of doing things, no one wishes them such despair and pain, especially when they are a father of young children. I do hope and pray he'll change some of his methods for dealed with troubled dogs in the future. |
Oh how sad, sometimes I think in this country we build some people up too much, and then we love to tear them down if we find out they have flaws. I still think Cesar has lots of good advice, but it seems like many only want to see the bad now. Here’s a good video of Cesar giving advice to Julie Brown and her Yorkie, and it has an important message how parents can make their dogs aggressive toward their children. Anyway, I wish him well. How sad. |
It's shocking and sad to learn that someone who appeared so upbeat and in control reached such a low. Glad to hear he is doing better now. |
he is planning on proposing to his new girlfriend so i assume hes in a much better place...but it proves no matter how good things are in ones life it can change in the drop of a dime. |

Very very sad. I do not agree with his methods in any way shape or form but still very very sad. I guess everyone, even the strong ones, reach a breaking point. I used to love Cesar, but now I watch his show wincing at the stuff he does to dogs. Either way, I feel for him. I'll tune in to watch the special. |
Very sad. I don't pity him though, if you're so selfish you would try to take your own life when you have dependant children despite numerous chances to get help, well I hope mom gets full custody until he's stable...also read he is planning a new book on the issue...that's so fast seems unbeleivable! I feel bad he's going through a hard time and honestly anyone with any celeb status gets ecerything so amplified but considering his choices I lack pity other than he needs to get perspective and a reality check. Now I know its trash mag gossip but his exwife alledged several types of abuse and describing his behavior patterns sounds like he has some maybe bipolar issues to seek help for. |

The video was good. There was only thing I didn't like was that he was using a collar not a harness. And he was pulling on it. I was a little worried about the dog. |
I find it espe ially ironic he never will really adress being sued for being an alledged alcoholic, or for abusing dogs behind the scenes. Guess his ex is refiling for custody modifion now |

After the way I've seen him treat some dogs, I wouldn't be surprised if his anger got the best of him at times. That Yorkie video was one of his tamest, but I still saw quite a few things I did not like. (this coming from a previous Cesar lover). |

I think they were going to cancel his show. They took him off one of the Nat GEO stations and put him on Nat GEO Wild instead. I don't know if that meant a pay decrease or not. I have seen him help dogs that no one else could fix. That Holly situation was really bad though. I had never seen him be that aggressive with a dog. I felt so bad for that poor dog. I haven't really followed the show in a few years so maybe he started to be more aggressive during that time frame. His kids are still kind of young. I hope they don't get shut out of his life as happens in many divorces. |

I'd read that his show was cancelled. |
Very sad. He may not have needed antidepressants but many people do because of a chemical imbalance so its not a terrible thing to be on anti depressants. |

im out the loop here what video? i remember about daddy passing but none of the other stuff im really going to have to watch the show on the 25th |
What did he do that ppl didn't agree with? I hadn't heard. I didn't know ppl had a problem with him. Please share. How sad and shocking to hear this is happening to him. I'm glad he's pulling through!! Wow I must be in a cave under a rock. I want to know. I'll be doing some research. |
Does anyone have a link to the Holly video? He was very abusive to that dog. I don't know how many other times he did that to a dog but it was disgraceful. I had seen him working with damaged dogs and doing quite well but apparently when he works with aggressive dogs he goes off. |

I also agree that exercise for dogs is very important. Most people will go out and buy a Lab or a Boxer and then expect it to be happy in the house most of the time or chained in a backyard. The animals are born to run and people treat them like little lap dogs. I shouldn't refer to lap dogs because my little fireball also needs tons of exercise to keep her a happy member of the family that is not destructive or just plain crazy. The people I saw on Cesar's show were clueless about how to relate to a dog and it's needs. I was shocked to see the Holly video. I had never seen him treat a dog that way. I truly feel positive reinforcement is the best way to train a dog and that being aggressive is only going to promote more aggression. Since I stopped watching the show after the first couple of years I can't say how often he did that type of thing with other animals. I am surprised they would show that clip on TV. Maybe he did get carried away with his own success and started pushing the envelope for ratings. I just felt so bad for Holly. Her owners were no help at all......as usual. |
