There is no doubt Georgie would be with us. Before Hurricane Sandy I printed out a list of hotels that accepted pets. There is no way I am leaving him anywhere without his Mom, Dad and brother:)

You know, a lot of hotels in NY and NJ that had a no pets policy let all pets in during Hurricane Sandy! Very nice!:)

I and so glad to hear that! I think people (or at least I hope) learned with Hurricane Katrina to accept pets because its difficult when people have to leave their pets and some people won't (like us).

Bella would be with me. I seen on the news where there were two yorkies rescued from a house, because the parents had left them. YOu could tell they were shaking and panting. Just broke my heart. I guess I don't understand that.

Both Sophie Kate and Avery are going with me, we would sleep in the car if necessary but no way would I leave them behind. Heck I would be lucky if they remembered to take me during a evacuation.

Moki goes with me.. He has food and supplies in my BOB bag. Doesn't take much to supply him. Brush,jacket and sample packets of food.

We would never leave Katie behind. We promised to love and protect her no matter what, and we couldn't bear to be without her or know that she was scared without us. I'm so happy to hear that these hotels allowed pets.

It is absolutely inconcievable to me how anyone that has a pet they care ANYTHING about....even if they have NO love, but just a compulsion to help the helpless.....could waqlk away from that precious little soul, and close the door in their little face, even as tat baby, YOU KNOW FULL WELL, was trying desperately to follow them..... During Katrina, some people said they stayed behind because they would not leave their pets behind. Since that time, FEMA and rescue shelters and SPCA, etc have seen the bond between a person and their pets, and they allow pets bn helters and on vehicles used to evakuate people. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason for those two Yorkies to have been neglected and left behind. Those dogs need to be rehomed, together hopefully, to anyone that will adore and love them every bit as much as they adore and are loyal to their human.

We would not leave without our babies. The offers made to us were turned down as we could not bring our dogs. We would rather be in the cold house together than warm without them :)

But they're one of the family.....I wouldn't leave my child 'somewhere else' to basically be looked after by strangers - so why our Littlies? :confused:

I have crates and will travel! Plus my parents have a travel trailer and a truck to pull it with. The furrbutts go where I go!

Tatiana would be strapped to me, in a front-carrying, pet carrier pouch. She goes where I go. End of story.

With my job if a disaster happens or we know is about to happen my job ships me out to another state so on a moments notice I have to be ready to leave no packing just grab Guinness and his soon to be sister and go... My work pays for both our travel, loading and food. Just sadly I have to leave my Koi behind that I also love dearly but I can always look down at my right leg and see them.

I had no idea until i read this that some morons left their babies behind... what in the name of heaven could they have been thinking... i swear how they could consider themselves human is beyond me...... my god just thinking of it... I cant take it...

I live in Miami, hurricanes are a given, I would NEVER EVER leave my lils behind NO MATTER WHAT! If i don't leave my boys behind why would I leave my lils... no difference... they are my life~

I was in a tornado warning once. I had 4 cats, a dog and iguana. I packed up everyone and went into the basement. I would sleep in my car before I would leave them. I always have crates, food and whatnot ready to go when something big happens. Always prepared

I would never leave Bailey behind! I would carry my belongings in my teeth if I had to..Bailey would be right in my arms!!

When my kids were little I took their fish downstairs with us along with my cat and dog! lol

No way on God's green earth would I leave my babies...I have three...they all fit in a medium size Kennel Cab...where I go they go...end of story.
Separate crate for the cat...he goes too...If whatever shelter won't take me and four animals, then I guess I'm staying in my truck, we will meet whatever fate awaits us TOGETHER!

Where I go, she goes. If she can't go, I can't go. Simple as that. I love her to much not to take her with me and if she can't go then I will stay and protect her as much as possible.

Mine would be with me in any emergency situation. Heck I get stressed if I am 30 minutes late getting home to them after work.
