Wow I just read this entire thread. I am so sorry. I hope he is found soon. There is something fishie about the motels whole story. Maybe you should get the police involved

I'm sorry, but I don't believe the housekeeper or the supervisor. I don't believe that this hotel hired an investigator. I hate to be so negative in such a sensitive situation, but I believe that you need to be on the phone with that hotel every hour on the hour. Persistence pays off! I say threaten them that you are going to the news. They think they can pacify you with telling you what you want to hear until you "give up". They need a wake up call!!!! If this is a reputable hotel they wouldn't want their name on the news.

Also, when offering a reward I would not disclose how much. JMO

How careless of the housekeeper but I hope that she feels just as bad as we express our thoughts and concerns and I hope that she/he is helping in this search

Im so sorry this happened :( I would not be surprised if the housekeeping people stole him I would also be investigating that I am a few hours away from there and will be going there in a couple of weeks to tour UCF with my daughter PM me if I can help in some way

In the.meantime prayers are going.up that be is found safe

Don't you worry about that period if they are going to stop helping you(!!!!!) if you publish their name!!!! If we do decide to travel to Florida, I may PM you then and ask but since it's a problem, don't think about it again. Talk to their investigator and see what he or she is doing and if they have that scent dog I'd mentioned. It is possible that dog could pick up something even days later. I hope and pray Bengi is safe and someone who knows something has seen an ad. Upping the reward can be the final straw sometimes with someone who knows something and needs money. Keep us posted as you can.

Honestly they say when you are being attacked not to yell help but yell fire to get people to react. I think you need to yell fire in this case in order to get the hotel to do something. That housekeeper's report should have been made the DAY YOUR BENGI WENT MISSING!!! The story changes it was her it wasn't her who opened the door. I wonder if you if you let them know that your search is being assisted by a Yorkie forum with 101,926 members who are witnessing how the hotel is attempting to help you and will remember. I don't mean to put any more pressure on you as I know you are doing everything in your power to help find your baby. I am just so upset with how I feel the hotel is treating this situation. Sending prayers to motivate the hotel to do the right thing and that sweet Bengi is found. Find out the name of the investigator and the phone number and contact them to find out what is going on with the search.

We could all email that hotel! Or if they aren't fully cooperative, tell them you are going to start a Facebook page about them and their lack of help in finding your dog they lost and a Twitter page about their losing your dog.

Yeah his collar had the area code but no one called me, I'm thinking maybe someone took him. And kept him :(

Oh I do pray your Benji gets back to you. I remember reading about one other and they never gave up and eventually someone brought the her baby back. Maybe because of all the attention it got and they thought they'd be found out. Post fliers all over the place at the hotel and nearby businesses. Try to get it on the news, in the paper, pet stores...anywhere, everywhere. It could help you.

I agree and considering how this is going you need to call an attorney.

Amazing how an attorney calling and sending a letter with the word civil litigation makes people jump in the right direction.

Glad a police report is filed an attorney would advise this, and perhaps contacting local media as well.

I highly doubt they hired an incestigatir other than their insurance liability incestigator...this person will only get the hotels version NOT find Benji.
