Still praying that Benji is found. Let's storm the gates of heaven with our prayers. God knows where he is and will move the heart of whoever has hime to return him home.

Yes. I don't think it is common, but it can happen. You should have your vet scan it at your pups regular vet visit to make sure it is good to go.

They do scan but it could fail afterward - should Tibbe get lost and his chip fail after his last vet visit, I'm going to prepare a little album of his many looks - short, medium, long hair, description of identifying marks, body parts, things he loves, is scared of, things like that. Close up pix from the top of his head, muzzle, profile of head, profile of head and body - that sort of thing. His tail set is rather high so a close-up of just that. Yes in this case, it is hindsight.....but I am pleading with everyone else out there, that have pets that for whatever reason, they have NOT microchipped, PLEASE DO SO NOW!! That is not hindsight, that is forethought! I am certain ANYONE that finds themself in this position, including Ellie, wishes they would have just taken the time to have that done!
It is one of the best things to do for your pet.
I got Max done with his first puppy shots and Mickey when neutered.
Do all shelters have chip "readers"? Not sure how microchipping works.

Hey guys, I read all your posts and I know you feel like I should still go and stuff; and I would if I felt that's Bengi. We've been looking at the lasts pictures of him on my phone and his haircut also tells me that's not him. You guys were comparing this yorkie to a picture of Bengi that was taken a few month back, and his hair there was longer in the face and ears. Bengi's ears at the time he got lost were trimmed. That and the black in the nose that you can all see; he didn't have that.
This weekend is too complicated for us to go over there with all these signs showing it's not him. My toddler just got a terrible cold last night to make things worse and she's running a fever.
I'm going to pray tonite and ask God specifically that if by any chance that's Bengi, He will make me uneasy about it and also put things in order for us to take the trip, which is almost 3 hours. All of this is really hard for us; so please don't judge us, we are doing what we can. Thank you for being here for us in this difficult time.

This dog's ears do look pretty grown out and even as fast as Tibbe's hair grows on his ears, I don't think they could sprout that much hair in, what, 2 weeks? Hope your little toddler will get better quickly - a sick child is so unhappy and uncomfortable until they are totally well. And if that temp goes up, it is downright scary.

He has a vestigial dew claw on his right foreleg and he won't wag his tail hardly at all unless his prey drive is engaged. He doesn't wag his tail when greeting, he just dances around, barks, chortles and tries to kiss kiss kiss - but no blur of a tail as many small dogs do. Things like that ready to go in the album should help. Also, am going to photo his tummy close up. He's got 3 or 4 moles in certain spots.

I really do not think any of us judge you or your family, you know your fur child better than we do and I am sure if you had ANY clue doubt thought or idea that it was indeed Bengi you would be there in an heartbeat!! Everybody here just wants it to be Bengi so bad where he will be back home with his family for the holidays that we all are just not willing to give up hope, so just know that in those moments you have those doubts and are ready to give up you will still have an army standing behind you hoping, praying, searching and fighting to find your baby and get him back where he belongs!!!

Oh ho!!! Kind of says all people need to know about this hotel, doesn't it? They might handle something icky if pressed but if you have real troubles THEY created for yu, you get corporate cookie-cutter responses and little more that really fixes what they did to ruin your life.

Ellie, we are all hot and agitated with you, I think we all need to remind ourselves that text/forums leave so much out....I'm sure you care about Bengi and its so easy for me and others to say what we WANT you to do...or what we would do in your shoes...God Forbid...

I truly hope that Bengi comes HOME, wherever that may be....his well being and little life is all that matters...I truly feel for you and your family...

;) I do not look my age so I figure I can still get away with not acting my age haha oh and I can fight dirty in a nice way... Doing government foreclosures for the past couple of years has brought out an evil side haha well that and me being a redhead :D

Praying for Benji to be found. Every day I check this forum just hoping to read good news that he is back home. Keep looking and praying. Dogs have come home after weeks of being lost. He will come home, we will not stop praying for his return.

Update on the dog in the photo at the shelter here in Melbourne:

He was adopted out first thing this morning before my friend got there....to an older couple. they returned him later because he seemed sick. He had bites all over him. The shelter says he's between 6-9 yrs old. I'm sure this is him. that would make sense. Its a treacherous stretch from Kissimmee to melbourne. I don't know what kind of bites they were but he's going to a rescue that can take more personal care of him than the shelter. :-(

Are you saying you are sure it's Benji or just that it's the returned dog is the same dog the older couple adopted. I'm confused. Also, which dog in Melbourne are we talking about, the one with the black on his nose that Ellie didn't think was hers, or the one that was such a bad photo and didn't show his face?

Looks lilke him to me. I went back to the first post and saw his picture. His ears were like that one in the photo. I sure hope and pray this is our Benji and our prayers are answers for Ellie!

Mine gets covered in bites just going to potty and we treat our yard.

I still say that if it isn't Bengi, it IS somebody's baby. That poor dog has too much weight on him and has been groomed AND neutered. I hope his family finds him soon!

Do you know what rescue they are going to take him to?

I haven't read all the posts but read the first few ages and the last couple. I seen the pic/post on the FB page of the dog that has been at the shelter since Nov 5 and It sure does look a lot like Benji's picture!

This is so sad.. I hope it has a happy ending:aimeeyork

Ok I also wanted to give an update:
-I called the shelter and found out what rescue org has this yorkie now; I'm sending them an email to see if they can provide me with more pictures of him
- I also contacted the person that posted about this other yorkie that you couldn;t see his face on the picture and after trying real hard (could he was very suspicious of people trying to claim the dog if it wasn't theirs) he send me a picture of his face and it wasn't Bengi.

I continue to have you and Bengi in my daily thoughts and prayers. Hang in there Ellie.

You are a WONDERFUL mom to both your skin and fur babies!!

I saw two postings on craigslist stating that they found a "small dog" but
would not give any details. You have to email and describe details about
the your missing dog.

I have emailed them both describing Bengi. One has returned my eamil
and said that it WAS NOT a yorkie they found. :(

I have not heard back from the other yet.
